Adventure b4 DEMent1a

And you’re very welcome to it. I failed my Scott of the Antarctic, course. Didn’t actually fail, I was excused, I had a note from me Mum.

north of tarragona west of barcelona is a great aire under the wine towers ot barberà de la conca pretty uncommercialised ancient mountain town free services , but most importantly it’s in the grounds of a bodega with excellent wine still got 4 litersvleft lol priced at about €1:10 a ltr if you provide your own bottle but if you want to keep it they supply in a 2ltr plastic sealed container for €3:40

Thanks for the advice Ken, trying to stay dry atm. My little black cloud has found me, again. I wish it would pi...... Go away.
Will stay at lower levels until I know it’s going to be dryer.

Had the maximum 3 days in El Catllar #37. Compact little village, with the compulsory castle. Had several good walks around the area . A little rain on first night, hardly worth mentioning after the snow I had in the morning. Weather picked up no end, thankfully.
I’m mootching around the north of Spain until the weather improves in France. The forecast says it will be better early next week. I’m now at El Poblenou Del Delta #45. Sitting among the paddy fields. This is a rice growing area, great for cycling and bird watching, apparently. I admit to my ignorance. Birds come in 4 varieties, small ,medium, big and pigeons.
I now intend to travel slowly through France, ending around the WW1 sites about the 15th May, ferry home on the 19th.
I’m hoping to get some travel advice in the next couple of days. Failing that, it’s back to my usual stumbling around from one aire to the next. Nothing new there then.
It’s another day in beautiful sunshine, unfortunately there’s a 48 hr limit. Oh! 27 vans here. One of them is a Brit. That would be me then.

so interesting reading your posts trotter........make the most of it hail rain or shine........you are so lucky being able to do something like this.........what a lovely adventure.....THANKS FOR SHARING
Wow! You’ve been busy with your “ like” button. I can only say thank you for taking an interest and that pleasure is all mine.? One of my friends hasn’t been well, so now I know at least two people are enjoying this. Thank you!
Only three weeks left. What am I going to do then. Apart from returning to work.

Stop that thinking and enjoy it. Your future is in your own hands lol. You can always retire and become a wanderer like me :)
He is already a wanderer, he is always wondering how things work?
I would rather be there in bad weather than stuck here Del, enjoy the few weeks you have left, if you are going to the landing beaches try to see Oradour -Sur-Glane on your way up

True Tel, can’t see him being my wandering jester anytime soon ha ha

Lol.
Back to what this is supposed to be about.
I’ve revisited El Catllar, it’s on the way back north, ‘cos, the walking around here is some of the best I’ve had in Spain. I’m not saying it’s the best walking in Spain. It’s the best I’ve had. Challenging, but not too difficult. Sometimes I know I’m getting old, ish. I did notice that these boots are going to need re heeling, or possibly replacing when I get home. That’s why I’m still at work.( When I’m there). You wouldn’t want me to go around barefooted, now would you?
Like you’d care ?.
There’s a Dam just up from here. I don’t know, 25 - 30 metres high. Nowt downstream, a puddle upstream. That could be where the Euro million’s go. Tbh, it’s a little more than a puddle, more than a pond, okay, it’s a lake. A small lake. If the rain did fall on the plain, instead of my van, given enough rain, it could fill it, and the Dam would save the houses downstream. Being over dramatic now.
Have a good ‘un, stay safe.

Noisy night, local yoofs, so moved on, now on homeward trek. This is going to be my last night in Spain. I’m in Navarcles. I think I’m in a car park for a school, or some such. Loads of roadworks in the town, making driving awkward. Found this place pretty easily. Coaches parked up. I walked up to where I think the aire is, or should be. Not sure about the area. I’ll stay were I am unless moved on. It’s certainly big enough.
Followed the river into town. Fairly fast flowing, watching what I think might be trout swimming upstream in barely enough water. All splashing and wriggling. It was the noise that attracted my attention. Fascinating! London boy, in nature. Knowing nothing. Listening to the birds, not chickens, this time. I could get used to this.

France tomorrow, making for Carcassonne, unless something takes my fancy en route. Had thought of going into Andorra, don’t fancy €12 toll for the privilege. One Pyrenee(s) looks much like another.
I’ve had some advice from a well respected member, about routes to take for going home the pretty way. If it’s a success, it’s all down to me, if it goes pearshaped, blame Marmite. Thank you, you know who you are.
Ferry in nineteen days. Doesn’t sound long if you say it quickly. It’s still five days longer than any holiday I’ve had before. Loving it.

We leave on our trip to France, Spain and Portugal tomorrow. Over the last few months I have been adding interesting places to a map. These came from a wide range of sources, including Motorhomer, and are intended to give us some ideas as we travel. Del you may want to pick up on some of the French ones on your way home. This link should open in Google Maps https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/e...&ll=41.51073756590122,1.3212312207031118&z=10

Access denied atm

First van problem. Looks like the gas regulator has had a hissy fit. I’ve found a dealer 10 minutes away, got up early, 6.30 only to find they don’t open until 10. Oh poo!
Was in two minds to bring the single burner stove. Glad I did. My concern atm is the food in the fridge.
If I can explain, and thank goodness for google translate, I’ll ask if I’ve bought contaminated auto gas ( lpg) . I’m hoping it’s just old age, it’s probably 12 years old.
