Adventureb4Dementia3

Thanks Del, just what I needed to read while I'm eating my porridge
Hope you're soon over it (y)

Bad night in Demi. My old travelling companions turned up last night. Sickness and diarrhoea. Can’t say I’d missed them . They’ve been away for three or four years. TBH, if they’d never come back ever, I’d been happy. Still their here now, and will be for a few days. I knew I’d stocked up on loo rolls for a reason.
Life in a smelly van seems to be what it’s going to be for now.
Should I rename this thread Adventureb4 diarrhoea? 😬😬😬😣🤮
What’s that old saying, constipation is a thief of time but diarrhoea waits for no man, hope you’ve got plenty of Imodium.☹️

We've luckily not got into your situation yet Meg.
I'm not sure the locals would be to enamoured by the sight of me with a scarf over my face.

Yes very scary. Especially a green scarf. Have you all decided what you are doing? If you are going off on Monday could I link up somewhere en route? I have printouts of the form for France.

Thanks for the offer but we aren't going yet, we are planning on staying about another week, maybe longer as we have been looking at the Eurostar and there are no places until 21st May. we can only assume the C&CC have block booked until then 😉.
Actually our family think it maybe safer out here than at home at the moment.
Safe travels see you in a field somewhere.

The previously mentioned Sid and Dick, may have left me. They gave me a good hiding, now hopefully happy with their work, they have moved on for now.
Atm I’m drinking my first cuppa for 36 hours, it’s been water, sippers, not gulpers, up to now. A couple of biscuits for breakfast. If they stay in, I’ll trying toast later.
Read this after your porridge Ednia please.

Toast taken. No adverse effects yet. Thinking of keeping it simple for today. More toast later maybe.
Contacted phone support, finally. They’ve confirmed that my roaming period will continue until I finally get home. After last year’s cockup, it’s a huge relief. Not being unable to talk to Nikki with all this going on doesn’t bear thinking about.
‘Nuff about me. Hope you are well.
Even with the rain, temperatures are still around 20. Can think of worse places to be stuck. Stay safe everyone. And we will do the same 👍

let us know the situation with the vet are you going mailleyre sur seine ?

Took Roxy to a vet in st ouen just before la mans we had to wait outside until the vet was free ( about 5 min ) then a English speaking vet lady came out and apologise for having to wait outside , she checked Roxy over and gave her the tablet then asked if she could keep her jokingly , went to pay and only 18 euro , what a result . Now very near Calais having a few days to recover from the long journey

You’re in lockdown Terry. You’re going to have to tough it out. Sometimes life isn’t fair. Lol.
Hello Maggie, luv n kisses from sunny, sometimes damp, Portugal.
We are still in self isolation, in lockdown on the riverbank, in sunshine. According to the radio, if I get home, I could be in quarantine for twelve weeks. Any bets how long it would take me to start climbing up the wall.
Sid and Dick have gone, thankfully. Feeling a bit brighter today. It will take a couple of days before I’m back to my normal, miserable, cranky self. Still working on it.
Stay safe people.

Another beautiful day in Portugal. Washing done. Clean clothes and bedding..
Do I stay or go ? Rhetorical question really, cos I’ve pretty much made my mind up. I’ll stay here until moved on by GNR. That could be as early as Friday, or weeks yet. Who knows. Nikki says I have to be home by the 29th September. So plenty of time yet 😬.
Like a lot of us. I’ve health issues that could become worse at home. It’s unlikely I’d get pneumonia here. I’ve had that twice in the recent past.
While writing this, I’ve had a call from the travel insurance people, refusing to extend my cover. Time to test how good the E111, system is, if and when necessary.
I expect replies from this , telling me how irresponsible I’m being. Please don’t bother. We are all adults. Time for us all to make adult decisions that we think are best for ourselves. Stay here in the warm sunshine in relative safety, or go home, probably becoming another strain on the NHS.

You do what you have to do to stay safe never mind what other might say Del, Me Bored to death sitting at home at the age I am not to go out waiting for some one to do the shopping for us

Feel for you mate.
Listening to R4, I’ve found that after having the virus, you get a form of immunity. If I can put off returning for a while. I could return later in the spring, once the pneumonia season ( season? ) has passed . Cop it then. That would reduce my risk.
My biggest concern is for Nikki. She’s got enough on her plate looking after the gorgeous Millie without being at my beck and call, I can be very demanding.😘
Rumour has it that Portugal will be on total lockdown for the likes of me by Friday. If that’s the case, the decision would be out of my hands.
My second biggest concern is for all you people confined to your houses. My concern about me comes in around #37 🙄
Stay safe, p l e a s e !

Damp and chilly day today, around 22c. So still shorts and tee shirts. Overcast this morning and intermittent rain this afternoon. It’s been that exciting today.
Sorry to not be any more informative. One of those days 😘
