Battery advice

We are going to upgrade our single 110 amp lead acid battery to two 110 AGM batteries.but have noticed you can get larger capacity batteries so was wondering which is best two 110 batteries or a single 220 any advice greatly appreciated
 
one key question ... Have you room for a single 220Ah Battery? quite often people go for a pair due to the shape oddities of where the battery needs to go.
 
I tend to go for multiples - easier to handle (weight wise) and partially habit (rarely can fit one biggy in the vans I do) but it doesn't really matter in terms of performance.

I've only just realized the weight of a large capacity battery 60 kg wow Julie doesn't weight that much. will definitely get 2 smaller ones
 
It will be available at that price, I expect, depending on what happens to exchange rates.
But it isn't available at all right now. Wildebus suggested a couple of months, I think. The website doesn't say.

Good decision. I have some AGM deep cycle batteries that weigh 75KG each. They're really quite hard to move. The good news is that I've not had to move them for several years.

Web site does say Available for "Pre-Order", delivery 8 to 10 weeks, I accept your apology 'in h'.

Lead time wise, that is the expectation from Alpha as told to me by the guy who runs the place.

When they do arrive, the first ones will go to those who have put in their pre-orders so my suggestion would be for anyone interested, put in their order to get on the list to be ahead in the queue. That should also reserve the price and I don't think any pre-payment is taken (I can't confirm these details personally as I have a different arrangement with Alpha - buyers need to make their own confirmation on this) and should you change your mind I bet there will be someone more than happy to take up a freed-up battery :)

following on from a few comments later in the thread, when do you NEED to upgrade? is it an urgent need or can you hold on for a few months to get what is a well priced Lithium Battery and likely a worthwhile change?

If you DID change to Lithium, do also bear in mind that you really do also need to get a proper State of Charge battery monitor (a voltmeter is no use for a Lithium Battery due to the way they work), so need to factor that cost (between £50-£200) in and also I'd recommend a way to keep an eye on the battery temp to stop charging at below zero (could do that automatically with some kit, or just manually which may be enough depending on how you use the camper/motorhome).
