What did you do to your van today?

Our van (Autotrail Miami 740S) has a kitchen sink covered by a sliding worktop.
With the worktop in the closed position, it’s impossible to fit the kettle under the tap. For years, we have been sliding the worktop to one side every time we fancied a cuppa.
After living exclusively in the van for two months, I decided that enough was enough.
The old tap is now for sale on fleabay and has replaced by a swan neck mixer, which means that if anything is being prepared on the worktop, or plates are drying after washing up, nothing has to be disturbed in order to fill the kettle up.
Roll on the next trip!
Why for sale Rog? I'm sure that someone here would love to give it a home

Certainly am Shonky!
We came home on the 29th October, not really sure why we came home, maybe it was for this fabulous weather!
The weather in Portugal took a turn for the worse when the rains finally started, but I gather from Trandy, who are still over there, that it’s now tee-shirt weather again. Just our luck!
If you want the things you love, you must have showers. And other inane nonsense.
Do I sound jealous? Portugal? If you think the answer could be, yes, then go to the top of the class.

It worked fine in my last van, you should be ok.
I hope you're not going stir crazy.
Stay calm and keep walking
👍

while sat the drive plugged in the oil radiator for a few hours this morning
Moved a cupboard and removed the shower cubicle ready for re-build

Emptied it. Took out all cushions and left it nice and empty for the work to be done to try and find the source of the leak from the sink. Taking it to Crossburn, Peebles tomorrow. Was going to take it on Monday but could have been caught and fined as this will be tier 4 from Friday. At least they will have plenty of time to work on it.

My Fenwicks caravan cleaner arrived so gave the van the once over with Fenwicks then afterwards with AutoGlym shampoo.
The roof was a mixture of the start of green algae and brown dust/ sand from a recent downpour, the Fenwicks got rid of it all.
Van looks like new again.

Just to make a lot of you jealous (for which I apologise in advance!) I spent tonight prepping the van for a few days away in a Level 1 area up here. We live in Level 2 so it is allowed. Already booked up for a few pub meals, with alcohol 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷while we’re away.

Washed under the wheel arches, filthy after driving it home Wednesday from dealers. Ran generator for 1/2 hr, do this once a month to ensure all is ok if I need to use it whilst out on my travels.

2017 Roller Team T590
Further to my post T-590 Locker I have finished the main aim of this project which was to determine what space was under the fridge and if any turn it into a cupboard.
The hardest bit was removing the panel below the fridge, this has (on our van) two pocket screws into the floor and one screw into to top edge of the panel which is visible when the fridge door is open. Then there are four pocket screws on the inside of the panel and one in a support piece making a total of five on the inside. The difficulty with these five is you have to access them from the locker, this requires a very long arm, and it's all done by feel.

Here you can seen the support with the panel removed, the support has two pocket screws. The area above the wheel arch and around the vent pipe I've stuffed with Rockwool, hopefully this will reduce road noise and heat loss.

I then added / replaced support with 12mm ply. The front panel I trimmed and used as the door, added a pair of hinged from Screwfix (they are rubbish) and a cheap Chinese catch from Ebay as I couldn't purchase one except from a Roller Team dealer. Our local dealer, Solent Motorhomes, were happy to order the minimum quantity of 18 so I could have one but I felt that unfair.

And from the outside it looks like this.

I am no carpenter but it looks OK, there are a few redundant holes that need filling but both jobs have given some more storage space in our motorhome.

I made a alteration to the wardrobe ,adjusted hinges and ran engine up to temp
think this week the heater will be going inside for the cold nights so ehu will be installed on timer

Just dropped off my van for a service with Timing belt and water pump, followed by MOT.

Got home and got to the door. Then checking pockets for door key, thought "Did I leave the door key in the van?"
Then thinking will we have to drive back to the garage to get it? :(

But it was ok (y)
No need as I left the key in the door!

Opps :p
