What did you do to your van today?

Still need to fit the number plate mount. In the standard place the door fouls on it so need to adapt that a little bit but should be easy enough to do.

Thule Load Carrier Plate not really adaptable without chopping it up a bit, so in case I want to go back to a standard carrier I decided to leave that alone and use another number plate mount I had spare.
Worked well (and this plate is actually more secure than the Thule one as well - I have lost one plate in the past that was clipped to the Thule mount).

Still need to decide whether or not to do anything with the cameras.....

But using the rack means I should probably move the Garmin reversing camera as that is on the number plate which will be totally obsured of course. Still have the original Autotrail high-mounted camera connected to the drop-down TV as a backup ( ) so depends how much use the box I suppose.

Ablemail App updated again to overcome the earlier incompatibility problems with Android 13. So the ABB07 Bluetooth concurrent reporting on both Leisure and Vehicle batteries is back to its brilliant self again!

Looked in the window at battery monitors and seen that the solar is keeping them up, sitting at 13.2 at 5.30 this evening.

I checked my batteries at about 11:00am, Trev, with the Ablemail App and the Leisure was sitting at 13.4v and the Vehicle battery at 13.2v. I was pleasantly surprised at these levels, because the weather has been pretty dire of late, but the longer days must be squeezing a wee bit more solar, despite the cloudy overlay!

I was pleasantly surprised at these levels, because the weather has been pretty dire of late, but the longer days must be squeezing a wee bit more solar, despite the cloudy overlay!

Yes same here, bright and clear sky, though the sun is still low but im happy as mid day they were at 14.2v

Washed down the van only three weeks since done but was surprised at dirt and streaks on it
ran tne heating on for a while heated water and flushed through
karcher charged ,torch charged ,jackory ok .filled water up.
tyre pressures done ,snow chain kit in
cushions placed in
fill will lpg tomorrow
fridge running and some frozen food in ,tinned food in

I've done the water flush and sanitation on mine the last couple of days. Need to run up the truma water and space heaters to make sure all is good

Water was a murky looking after being empty all winter coating on shower hose I think david
heating was going full belt ,snow chains in for abroad just in case

Too busy chasing up the electrician who was supposed to arrive between 9 & 10am, but finally turned up at 2pm, without the dimmer switch for the new light because he hadn't been told he was to supply and fit one [despite the 2 Aviva appointed contractors being told about the switch]; then meeting the new Shed supplier who has given a verbal quote, after failing to arrive yesterday, but has so far not sent the formal quote. And lastly, chasing up a missing prescription from the local pharmacy.

I have ordered the dimmer switch from Screwfix for collection tomorrow, and I'll have to fit it myself. On the bright side, this should be the last of the bloody insurance contractors. Aviva now have 3 formal complaints on the go from me, and there is another lodged with the Financial Services Ombudsman. They couldn't have been more inept if they had made that their sole objective

I had a Viva 50 years ago; and that was crap, too ...

Mine was Vauxhall gren and rust, 1971 1159cc, JDH 873J last year before the upgrade [!] to 1256cc. The Viva replaced a Bedford Viva 8cwt Van, KRV 343F, that had 81500 miles on it, mainly driven across ploughed fields by William Press & Sons employees working on the North Sea Gas conversions ... I paid £45 for the Van, and it came with a full service and 5 new tyres that were replaced before it was realised it was being sold, according to the Workshop Manager [my future father in law] who had to admonish the mechanic responsible for the mistake [my Dad]. I scraped another £15 together to get a full respray via Cyril, another of Dad's contacts ... Best of all, the van had a starting handle, so it would start eventually in cold weather, before the battery surrendered

My mum basically gave me the car after I passed my test (she bought a LHD Ford Capri from my Greek Cousin in Germany to replace it) and my sister gave me a years insurance for it for my birthday (she worked at an Insurance company so I guess got a good deal?).

Received the quote for the repair to the two tiny little dings to my panel van.

Fell off my chair in shock.

A pal said your idea of a fair price is way off target. I don't need friends like that. Yvonne said "Just get it done, and get it done quickly". She's better again, thank goodness. My eldest son said sh1t happens.
