France/ Spain trip with possibly Portugal.

Finally got my Cousin home, they have got his blood pressure under contral now and confirmed it's not a stroke now. His Bloods have all comeback OK. The MRI scan has confirmed that it's a herniated disc in his neck, that is causing his dizzyness when he looks up and the pins and needles and pain in his arm. It's to do with his nerves apparently.
They have sent him home with several tablets to take per day, cost €53 at the chemist today, but you only contribute 10% towards them, so just €5.30. They said he will get an appointment in around 6 months to see a neurosurgeon at Elche hospital, unfortunately like the UK there is a long waiting list in Spain.

We were going to drive back to the UK via France, but have now managed to book the Santander ferry on the 22nd March back to Portsmouth, they must have had a cancellation as when I looked the other day there was nothing available until the end of March, which would have meant we would had spent to much time in Europe.

It also means we can spend more time now with my cousin making sure he is managing his medication and eating regular meals, a few on the urbanisation where he lives have also said they are going to help out and keep there eye on him, which is comforting to know.

Would have been nice to go home through France as there was a few places we wanted to visit on route, but with the militant french striking, including blocking fuel depots, I thought this was a safer option, especially if they plan to hold more strikes. So my pocket is £656 lighter tonight, I do wish there was more competition on the Spain to UK routes, might drive the price down a bit.

At least the weather has picked up now, unbroken sunshine and 26° and set to get even warmer.
