If I wanted a convertible M/Home, I'd have bought one. I have the vehicle dimensions recorded in the Satnav [and on my phone, 'just in case'], but I stlll check the Bridge signs and work on needing stated 3m clearance to allow for any variations if the road has been resurfaced [live in hope] or similar changes have been made of late
Steve
"work on needing stated 3m clearance" is that a typographical error I see there Steve? I'm happy with 6 inches or so, Liz too.
So SatNags don't lieIf there is one point I have to the fore when approaching a bridge, is the height in relation to our MH. This may change when the grey matter diminishes with age, which is why we have and use SatNags.
Good point, which is why we try to remain alert, and not rely on AI technology. So SatNags don't lie![]()
? Answers on a postcard, please. No, Kev, not a typographical error, just being cautious with my manoeuvring calculations ... Or, as Burt Reynolds said on the original Parkinson Shows [when they were proper interviews rather than merch promos] shortly after Oliver Reed appeared naked on [IIRC] Playgirl Magazine,
'I was asked by a very pushy female journalist if I would appear naked. When I declined she asked whether I was too shy, somehow inadequate, and then she asked why I wouldn't appear naked for her. So, I told her straight; 'Because I wouldn't want to risk breaking your nose ...'

I just thought three meters was a high margin and difficult to achieve as our van is only just over three meters. No, Kev, not a typographical error, just being cautious with my manoeuvring calculations ... Kev, Brunhilde is 2.75m high, excluding all the roof paraphenalia, such as tv aerials, fridge vent pipes and the solar panel which is tilted in the lee of the cab bulge; 25cm additional allowance for these pieces of kit [doubt anything is higher than 15cm] gives me a sensible safety margin instead of an expensive repair!I just thought three meters was a high margin and difficult to achieve as our van is only just over three meters.
Seems a recurrence of my foible of 'I knew what I meant when I wrote it', crossed with an assumption that, because the OP posted a photo of the bridge and the sign, everyone viewing would understand the context! Another step backwards for me in my quest for perfection, KevAh, I re-read the post, and it says 3m clearance, that was where I thought there may be a typo, plus a chance to take the wee (as we do) 3m clearance to me means 3m above the van.
