it is a matter of doing it as cheap as possible with "acceptable results".
Use a spray gun and you need a compressor, you need spray guns, you need to clean them. An aerosol you point and squirt and no more tools needed. when empty, pick up another one.
Put it this way ... if you watch "smart" car repairers the like of chipsaway and others, they will use a proper spray gun and mix paints to shoot the colour on but the primer will be from an aerosol, and quite possibly the clearcoat will also be from an aerosol. I used to use my Devilbis Spraygun for the finishing, but always used Aerosols for the primers.
 
As you (sort of mention smart car) I saw this this morning, and where the van is going for the clutch.

And that is the biggest slide hammer puller on the floor next to it that I've ever seen.

going by the size of the wheels, that is going in for a new transmission as it will be buggered!

I asked about it and it has a 1300 engine in it, dunno which one, so maybe they junked the smart one, really tatty close up and zoom into the rag top for a laugh.
 
I appreciate that I’m a small minority but I prefer a 3 way fridge. I realise there are downsides such as reliability and less cooling power but I have no room for more batteries so with just 120ah and 100w solar available I’d struggle in the winter running a compressor. I did have a compressor fridge on a boat but the noise was irritating in quiet places and in the confines of a small van would be more so, even though I recognise that they have become quieter. Horses for courses.

If you haven't got room for the power the it's a foregone conclusion ...

Noise wise ....the ONLY thing I occasionally hear from ours is a very brief metallic click as the thermostat operates .

It wouldn't be so bad if they were at least made to be reliable but how many fridge threads do we see on the forums, and that is the tip of the iceberg as many people haven't even heard of the forums.

And are back to 100% within 1 hour of sun up on a sunny day ...

Size wise ....one that fits the existing hole best ...
I wanted a grey door BUT had to compromise on black for one in a spot on size ...
Went for one without a freezer compartment for extra use able space (we never carry frozen stuff and have,a Waeco 40l cool box compressor that will run in freezer mode if needed .

That's a cracking fridge
 
My biggest gripe with the 3way is....
For a big piece of kit, the storage space is minimal when compared to a domestic fridge.

I'm in a bit of two minds on whether to go ahead with pulling out the 3way, to
1, create another cupboard, while continuing to use the 12v chest fridge, or
2,have a domestic fridge put in, and selling on the chest fridge. The 12v freezer will stay.

So many plans, so little money.

I'm devoid of both plans and money; but that does keep the two in tandem ... Every cloud has a hell of a lot of rain to keep everything sodden/sodding wet :rolleyes:
