Type2 diabetes

If you can't add anything useful, keep talking crap is not a good mantra :D :D

If you can't grasp the point of a comment, an abusive reply is not a good mantra.
If you thought that was abusive, you ain't seen nowt yet, I am the epitome of abuse me mate :D :D

I responded in kind Geeky bloke, it added nowt, smaller plates do not replace spuds or bread, got some almond flour of Amazon arriving today, hope it tastes better than that shite Gluton free stuff.

It doesn't taste better, though it rises less and costs far more.
If you don't want to.learn from other people's experience, that's up to you.
My conclusion from managing diabetes through diet was that it can be done by having a miserable diet, missing almost all the stuff you like. Worked a treat for me. Superb A1c results. Hated it.
Went onto metformin instead. Vastly better, no side effects, enjoying eating again.

Of course I do, I started the thread, you need to step back and SEE the Emojis cock.

I'm on Metformin and Invokana too. It's heading the right way now as the tests are showing, I'm doing the Diabetes reversal programme, where a group attend "classes" at the docs, been twice, two more to go over a few weeks 1.5 hours a time.

Liz is 100% behind me, even though she isn't diabetic; she has a knackered thyroid, so is on the weekly jabs, so is already losing weight, more than me actually.

Sweet potato is a good alternative to "ordinary" potato. More nutritous and can get flour made with them which makes a flatbread when mixed with greek yoghurt and dry cooked in fry pan. But....you have to like it! ;) ;)

Although cereals are generally not good, I have two Weetabix with full-fat milk every morning, sometimes hot and sometimes cold. My view is that the low-carb diet is pretty boring, so I'm going to start off with a breakfast I can enjoy. I used to have it hot with honey, but that is out now, my glucose is around 7 when I test at about 16:30.

I'm snacking on Baby Bell or cheese triangle, with pork scratchings now and then to get some flavour in my mouth, once a week we have mash, and I'll go get a fish to share, we're not evangelistic, just doing it the best way for us as individuals.

There are some surprising things in those charts which you wouldn't expect, I would say.

So green is "have as much as you like" and amber is "in moderation", with red being "Avoid as it will kill you" ....

Full Fat Milk and Cheese is GREEN, but Low Fat Milk and Cheese is AMBER?
Full Fat Butter is GREEN but Low Fat Spread is RED?

Yes, We meant to ask about that, but got caught up in other stuff.

Carnivorous diet and few carbohydrates, a lot of research on this subject with large trials.
Worthy of anyone's time to research for themselves
I'm 100% carnivore and dairy. Never felt better.

Management had her Diabetic review today.
Slightly higher Hba1c, (7.1), put down to that we're enjoying too much fruit. Evidently, the sucrose content increases with the long, sunny days. Oranges, berries, particularly.
That's a shame.
They did say her control was better than most.
They did an Hba1c on me ... 4.7!
The lowest the diabetic nurse had seen in 15+ years.
They say there's no need to change to Monjaro, as she's doing well on Lantus insulin.
Now that we're shaking off 3 years of Long Covid, we're able to walk, reasonable distances.
Up to a mile, now.l

Not very good that one, so I had it done again.

Click to download, it's made for the free open office program, but should open in Excel I think, but you may lose the formatting.
