Prostate Cancer

Tattoo time, it's headed in the right direction at least. I had 20 sessions 5 a week for four weeks maybe 5 minutes each, but a 3 hour round trip, it was the enemas which wore me down.

Had an op on the Bladder, laser removal of suspicious growth.no cathater but a lot of blood after and had to use a tenna pad or 2 for a couple days.No results of that yet.Started the injections today.Given a choice of 3 so obviously went for the short thin needle Prostap option.Never felt a thing, this time.
Booked a long weekend at shepton mallet show next weekend.Getting cabin fever ,need to get out and about while I got a chance before the RT begins

Cancer and RT treatment has moved on massively, At the Royal Marsden Sutton I was treated for non-Hodgkin disease, it’s a lymph node cancer, I had three tumours removed, plus a month of daily RT, took 20 years to be cleared, but they succeeded .Tattoos still evident.

Had pre treatment scan this morning, had three tattoo’s today last time only one, RT sessions now changed back to 20 like you had.
.
Onwards and upwards.

I booked mine for the first appointment every day, and apart from three days, I was out by 9 a,m so the whole day wasn't ruined, it's just a chore you have to get through, but make sure you drink all the water, and empty your bowels, it's mega important, and take Ibuprofen if you have any pain in the loo, they also do a special cream for soreness, but you have to ask for it.

I'm ringing Urology next week, this all started with having to pee 2-3 times every night, so since 2017 I've had all the treatments, cancer is reduced or gone, not sure, as the only evidence is an infinitesimal PSA result, and we all know how accurate they are, but I'm still up 2-3 times a night, so I'm looking for answers as the lack of sleep is seriously affecting all parts of my life.

I'm the same with peeing during the night, had prostectomy October last year, PSA is now "0" from 3.99 apparently the peeing is overactive bladder caused by the OP had to scrape the bladder as prostate was growing into it Gleason 3+4 on tablets for the peeing not doing much though,

I thought I'd asked but hadn't.

Which Tablets are they Jeff?

I was prescribed some new ones to go along with my Tamsulosin as they are not doing much of a job since the radio therapy, this was SIX weeks ago, I finally got them on Wednesday, not had a noticeable effect as of last night, supposed to help empty the bladder.

Mirabegron Astellas 50mg slow release.

I am take 4 Cyproterone Acetate a day + I had a hormone injection on Thursday and no side effects up to now my Gleason score was 7 = 4+3 not great but ok Kev .All this has made no. difference to my peeing lololol.
To be fare Kev I've always been a shit sleeper so I guess I'll just have to put up with it.

I was 3 + 3 at one point. Any mention of radiotherapy yet, I had to ask about it.

I just noticed you joined 10 days before me.

Yesterday was end of third week of RT. Tiredness getting worse, pee output slowed, between 3/5 trips to the loo during the night. Possibly due to the fluid advice given at hospital. Seems to much sometimes. Given high dose of RT as the brachatheropy procedure failed. Around waist area getting uncomfortable, Upside only 5 blasts to go.🤪, after that another 10 days and can have normal diet again.
.
Maidstone hospital oncology department is amazing, nothing is to much trouble, they even have there own chemists that fulfill your prescription with speed in the same area.

I didn't need to change my diet for my RT.
I had to stop consuming any foods that created 💨 💨 I was given a list as long as your arm as well as cut down on red meat, no fizzy drinks, avoid alcohol,
Ect ect, drink non caffeinated tea coffee, however as yesterday was my 73 birthday I was permitted a small glass of red.😀 As well as a rather nice sirloin with all the trimmings🤪

Just been talking to a friend of mine with the same bother and he was say I should ask about SABR treatment it is 5 high blasts of radiotherapy and that's it so I will be asking about it on the 20th when I see the oncologist .
