Weather Report..................

5 degrees at sun-up, after a chilly night.. Hang the expense, we kept a dimplex on all night !
I'd rather be poor and warm, than rich but cold.
Stayed in bed til 9, it was 14 in the shade. That's the answer!
19 in the shade now... I'm not in it.

It was a lovely bright, though chilly, start to the day in Herts.
So I've jumped in the Moho and moved west, where it's also bright, though chilly, this afternoon:

Can you guess where I'm overnighting?

Say hello to Stuart the Druid for me and stoke up that fire to keep warm,
Have a great mini meet.

Well spotted, Lee.
It's chilling down rapidly right now. Methinks that the weatherperson may have over estimated -2°C as tonight's temperature.

It’s been a lovely sunny day here today but chilly and now it’s a very clear sky and still chilly but very still here near Durham

Back at Stonehenge it was strange driving in with a nice warm van and seeing all the cars at Larkhill and the vans on the Drove covered in ice just taken Taya for a pee and the grass is crunchy.

We had a chilly night and had to drive up to Sao Bras.. ( auto correct loves this). 600 feet higher and two overcoats colder. Dry and sunny, 17 degrees, eventually, sheltered from a cutting NE breeze.. Cooling down now, heating goin on.

Time for coffee and brandy.

Managed a couple of hours, working diligently on the terrace in sunshine, serenaded by a Hoopoo .... noisy great sod !.
The almond blossom is breaking out.
As dusk fell, so did the thermometer. We're indoors, heating on, working just as diligently... finishing the Xmas cake... Yorkshire style, with a lump of strong crumbly cheese.

It was minus a lot last night on The Drove and I awoke to a hole in the cloud cover, an example of the local fauna admiring the view from aloft and a thick layer of frost covering the surrounding countryside:

....and fence posts:

Later the local drones went up to join the raptors admiring the view:

It looks as if there'll be cloud cover tonight, which means that there'll be no repeat of the amazing star display that I wondered at last night. This part of Wiltshire has little light pollution compared with Hertfordshire.
