Oh and I'm also addicted to the smell of Zoflora...
cheap enough anywhere but you can sometimes get the bigger bottles in the pound shops.
Can't find a linky in your post Neil...Have a look here Jennie, second paragraph in What is a septic tank? section
I liked the 99p shops. That way you could ask that question and get change as wellI was trying to work out what perfume you wore
How much are they?
I suppose being a toilet thread and me mentioning £1 shops and you replying with 99p shops for the first time we have stayed on topic, we can spend a pennyI liked the 99p shops. That way you could ask that question and get change as well
Ahah, still not quite back with it yet thenCan't find a linky in your post Neil...
Goodness, you’re sharp today. BTW, if you go to, er, go, with just a penny, you’re going to wet yourself, or worse. Last time I used one it cost 20p ?I suppose being a toilet thread and me mentioning £1 shops and you replying with 99p shops for the first time we have stayed on topic, we can spend a penny
I use bio washing liquid. Usually Tesco or Lidl own brand. Not conditioner!Just a (dumb) question from an ignorant male about toilet cassettes and bio detergent/conditioner/whatever....
I'm currently using Dometic Green tabs and they do the job of keeping the cassette relatively livable with, but I have questions about the bio laundry products:
Firstly - can you mix the tabs with whatever laundry product is recommended?
Or is that not a good idea: Would the two products work against each other?
Is the Laundry product as good a biological muncher of waste as the tabs, or do you use it JUST because it leaves a nicer smell?
Which actual laundry product do people use??
- A Bio Detergent? (e.g. Persil Bio?)
- A Fabric conditioner? (How do you know it's a biological one? I've never been able to figure this out when looking at various conditioner products)
I'll be in Spain tomorrow - what product would I buy? (Given I don't have much (any) spanish).
Thanks all replies, (even the piss-taking ones.... )
Agreed - but I find the bio washing tablets much more convenient than the liquid, been using those for some years.I use bio washing liquid. Usually Tesco or Lidl own brand. Not conditioner!
The reason to use it is simply that it is much more effective, much less smelly and it breaks down all solids (including paper) much better.
It is also much more convenient and safer to handle thsn the stuff sold for toilets.
It is also cheaper, but it's not a significant saving.

To remove grease stains from fabric, you do need higher temperatures. But that's not the task, is it?My non scientific opinion of washing products is that they need to be heated to work, otherwise it's just concentrated cold soap. If you buy at the right time green and blue additives are cheap.
Any chemical engineers here?
Bio tabs are fine with septic tanks.I use non-bio washing tabs from Aldi as I sometimes empty into my septic tank. Just pop two tabs in

How many times do you need to be told that saving money isn't the point? People use washing liquid sachets because they are better and easier, not because they are cheaper. And they don't kill septic tanks.

You must clean the cassette as much as you can using bio cleaner or just the new bio washing detergent.
Then it still may smell a bit for the first few times whilst the old dometic cleaner kills the bio.
Persevere past this by emptying the cassette more regularly and once you've done this don't use bleach based cleaners as these will kill the bio off.
So - the Dometic BIO tabs are a different BIO material to the BIO in the BIO washing detergent, and they actively work against each other? Is that right?
