Can you overdose!!!! I struggle to use much out of mr one leisure battery/ solar panel. Need to get out more obviously!!!!!!
Do you have the Venus GX or the Colour Control??
Well, after reading this thread I'm rapidly getting an inferiority complex! With a 100Ah batery, a 40w solar panel (I think) on my rising roof, a 50w free standing solar panel I can connect in parallel with the roof solar when parked up and a 75/15 mppt Victron regulator I think I'm in a completely different league. And with this miniscule setup I have to keep a compressor fridge going too. So, no inverters, no television and only very frugal use of the converted to led fluorescent lights for me. Still it adds interest to our travels trying to getting the maximum possible into the battery whilst at the same time trying to take the minimum out?
Ah yes I read about that, was it fairly easy to do?
Does that 5 days off grid include any driving at all? As you said "without running" I am guessing you are static the entire time?

Assuming normal battery, you have 55Ah available to use in the 5 days. Solar will be no use in the depth of winter - let's be super generous hand say you get 4Ah a day from solar. That gives you a total of 15Ah a day of available energy. That is under 10W an hour average!
The typical camper in winter will need power for their heater - that's around 20W an hour when running. Even LED lights will be at least 5W an hour for minimal lighting. TV will be maybe 30W an hour for an efficient model.
Maybe consuming 180W a day is doable if you have VERY specific setup, but for the majority in a modern camper or motorhome it is just not possible. My van uses more than that even when I am not in it and the fridge is off!

Thanks Dave
my cello tv 36w uses 3ah,is your tv on gasIt certainly worked at new year. Heater takes about 1ah but only ran about a quarter of the time. 2hrs tv at 1ah. Lights use very little. So I reckon about 10ah per day, which explains why it worked.

My average use is 200Ah per day.
