Ad blue question

the motoring chemical industry companies are producing anti crystallising additives.

Any thoughts on these additives ?

Eg

Wynns Ad-Protect Ad-Blue Crystallisation Preventer

Wynn's Crystal Clean & Protect Car AdBlue Preventative Crystallisation Cleaner Additive

FORTE ADBLUE Exhaust Crystal Preventer Reducer

LIQUI MOLY DEF ADBLUE ANTI CRYSTAL ADDITIVE

Or

TOTAL CLEARNOX ready mixed with anti crystallising additives
The Fiat handbooks says not to.
“Do not add additives or other fluids to AdBlue® (UREA); doing so could damage the system.”
I guess they might refuse warranty claims if they find unexpected additives in the system.

This van is the first vehicle I've ever had that's new enough to want adblue so it's all a mystery to me, although I've found the hole it goes in. There doesn't seem to be any gauge on the computer to say what level it has in it, so I was just waiting for a message or something - but are folk saying I should shove some in anyway? Maybe I should RTFM at some point.

One bit of advice would be.
Don't buy it from a fuel station forecourt, it is very, very overpriced. Do shop around.
My son orders it from amazon, he has prime.

We bought some and wasted a lot when the really naff filler tube thingy fell off. It was useless.
I must of used their adblue 30 odd times without issue ...

Barring one occasion when the actual spot section was too short to correctly depress the protective flap in the filler neck of the van ....
That said ....

All adblue containers are disposable and not precision made so easy to crossthread/screw on the filler spout incorrectly .

For what it's worth most I've bought from Aldi are the same brand as from my shell garage forecourt ....
Just 14.99 from Aldi rather than 39.99 from Shell .

One of the most painful conditions I've ever suffered with to be honest ....

Imagine as a nearly 60 year old bloke being reduced to tears when having to hobble to the loo for a slash ....

I'm ashamed to say completely self inflicted ...

And completely treatable by reducing the amount of alcohol drunk .

I truly truly would recommend avoiding gout in any way shape or form .
Naproxen prescribed by the GP works a treat for me

Further to my original post, while in Spain we filled diesel at a service station that also had Adblue pump so I filled up. Nozzle opened the flap easier than a plastic spout and it was FAR cheaper than buying by the bottle. My advice to everyone - find a garage with an Adblue pump. All those used by HGVs will have one.

I noticed one at Morrisons fuel station in Blackpool. Unfortunately I didn't notice the cost.

I had mild Gout in my left 🦶 which moved to my left elbow and hand a few days after having a Covid booster jab, 6 months of agonising pain and non use of my ✋ and 💪.
Am now on permanent daily anti Gout medication.
It's a hidden secret that the Covid pharmaceutical industry is trying to suppress.
There has been nearly a thousand percent increase in Gout condition over the past few years.

My adblue light and ad blue level low came on only took around 4ltrs ..lights still on 1000 miles plus after filling up ,but no countdown (yet) not too worried if countdown starts I have a spare tank/pump only 30 mins to swap also carry a laptop with diagbox on to prox align.

I don't know why some folk are saying they are using a lot of Adblu. I bought my Mercedes Sprinter with about a 3/4 tank of Adblu (there is a gauge if you twiddle enought switches to see it). I had done about 8000 miles in a year before the warning light came on so I stuck 5l in from Aldi and it went back up to the same level as when I bought it. I don't know if there is something in the filler cap design but a) there was no crystallisation and b) it was easy to pour 5l in with the Aldi Car Plan Adblu. Note, apparently you can pay £40 for 5l from a Shell garage, or you can pay €0.60 / litre from a petrol station in Europland. It just shows what a rip off country we live in. The exact same stuff (Car Plan) is £12 / 5l in Aldi and £22 / 5l in Morrisons.

What about us with geriatric 'vans, should we wee in the tank ? " AdBlue is made from a urea and water solution "
If you have a geriatric van it won't use Adblu so don't worry about it.

You might have to press 295,687 assorted buttons on the computerised dashboard to reset the low level light. Look in the manal - or if you as a bloke can't bring yourself to do that - it is after all not something that we do unless really desperate - get a lady friend to look it up.

Apparently it should go out when topped up ,(you'll be re assured to know I have never read manual:p:p

The owners manual can sometimes be interesting. For example some years ago I bought a new Rapido and the first few pages were about how France couldn't decide if it was a good thing or bad thing to allow motorhomes to stay overnight in towns. The government commissioned an independent survey to find out, and they decided it was good for the local economy so now all town mayors have to provide overnight parking for motorhomes.
I've just been all over Dorset. Each and every council car park has signs saying "No Motorhomes. Go Away. P**s off. Get stuffed. We don't want you or your money".
In other words, go to Newhaven or Dover or Portsmouth and go somewhere you can stop for free. Anywhere in Europe.
Other interesting factors relating to manufacturers' manuals is that you can spend months picking all the faults in the current AutoSleepers owners manuals. The wiring diagrams for one thing bear no relation either to the wires or the electronic control panels in your motorhome, you have to draw your own if you want to trace faults. Or rip it all out and do your own proper wiring.
