your 30 pence was a conversion to the Decimal Value, not "Todays" value.

blackjacks and fruit salads used to be 4 for a penny. they became 1 [new] pence each a bit later (so instead of getting 48 for a shilling, you would only get 5 for 5p). Now THAT is inflation!!

Hi we have paid 75p for 22 litres at Autogas lpg Watling street grange TF29PB Telford a couple of weeks ago but 10 litres or below is £1 a litre so turn up empty .

I think out cheapest was 28p but our other branch just up the road (a filling station with no garage) was a bit cheaper. Didn't like working there: too repetitious.
