Multi-trip policy (unlimited but maximum 90 days per individual trip) renewed yesterday automatically. The premium reduction is just shy of £48, almost 15%. Same health conditions covered and we are each 70+, so a premium reduction is a pleasant surprise. Only factor I can think that may have triggered the reduction is the 6 years since my heart attack, and no further problems since my mini-stroke 3 years ago. All I have to do is keep taking the tablets, and push on with trying to lose weight and build up the exercise and stamina ...

It can also be worth checking that their data is correct; they failed to update the time that had passed since I had surgery; when they corrected this, the premium went down.

Already checked that the Medical Conditions declared is recorded accurately - first thing I did when I saw a reduced premium!

Is LV a good insurance Steve ?? A lot of people on Fun rate Nationwide insurance
LV is good, Chris, though I have never had to claim on it. LV are now part of Allianz and they are quite happy with insuring us at 70+ with declared health problems (heart attack, mini stroke, high blood pressure) for trips of up to 90 days, with no restrictions on the number of trips, so we could do, say, 3 x 90 days with Elaine's Irish Passport and still fit in a short 4th trip ...

Curious question but is the Irish passport affected by the new passport rules that have come in?

apart from the media playing it up they have only enforced a rule that has always been there ie if you wish to be treated as a british citizen you must have a current uk passport , people let them lapse thinking they can renew them at any time not as easy as that

Looks like a great deal even with no discount. Cruel to make us work out the premium.
Is that price for both ?

Sounds good, as I think the Nationwide ins is only up to 30 Days (£216), any longer & you pay more..... I think 🤔, thanks for the info Steve 👍

Make sure you check your renewal , virgin money sent me price for auto renewal , I was overjoyed it had dropped , then checked and they had removed my medical problems and assessed me as being fit, healthy and no medical disclosures at all .👍

We have been with NFOP for many years. Worldwide cover including cruises and winter sports costs £579 this year.
I did a quote for amusement with all clear today. Gold plus is £1550 and platinum is £2200.
Two big plus points for NFOP are that medical history is irrelevant and a family member has had a claim settled without issue.

From an underwriting risk assessment, I have had my heart attack, mini stroke and pulmonary embolisms; and have had stents fitted and am own the same core medication as that prescribed when I had my heart attack in 2020. I am probably less of a risk than I was when I was blissfully unaware of my impending heart attack, and was eating and drinking whatever I fancied, in the [mistaken] belief that my lifestyle was basically quite healthy ... :ROFLMAO:

The Travel Insurance doesn't cover lost luggage, because I can find my socks and knickers in the chaos that is described as a wardrobe, travel will be predominantly in the M/Home, we've pawned the Rolexes so are free from the robbery risk and gas attacks while we sleep, and LV have had our custom for the last 3 full years of touring, so know we haven't needed to make claims.

We may return to cruising when there is what passes for a normal [vaguely rational] human being in the White House [we have unspent tickets with NCL], and will need things like luggage cover if/when we do book, but, at present, we have no intention of doing anything that involves US permissions and/or contact with the thugs from ICE who are bonus for every foreigner they arrest or shoot in the name of the solipsist and his staff

I have heart failure , diagnosed about 5 years ago .
Fairly vague term , there is a more specific diagnosis I think . Who knows ?
Think I'm paying about £400 ? Found out about NFOP on here , possibly from (see above ) TeamRienza . Definitely checked out LV , think I ruled them out on price . Possibly my age , I'm 76 .
Yes visited USA annually . Halted by covid but , now , no desire to return

I thought they would be great for us, except "no chronic breathing conditions". Phill's medical record states COPD. He has a bit of emphysema in the bottom of one lung, probably from smoking years ago, he has never ever been treated for it. Peed off about this.
Sorry, just wanted to whinge about it.

LV. Our joint premium down in Feb. All medical conditions remained. Agent confirmed it's an industry trend.

I've claimed successfully with LV for a massive medical bill in Turkey and repatriation with medical escort 2 years ago and then just two weeks ago for a cancelled trip due to Mrs RSD7a's fractured ribs.

The latest claim was a very interesting process. After two phone calls they established I had all necessary documentation (medical confirmation of not fit to fly, flight cancellation doc, air b and b cancellation) and said are you in a position to send all these in? Yes, I said, email or post? It's ok they said, no actual need to send the docs. I'm authorising your claim now. Hang on to the docs for 30 days in case of a random check. Thanks and goodbye. !!!!!

Very impressed with their efficiency (and humanity) plus no sense of them trying to wriggle out of payment.

Forgot to mention Steve , is that cover just for Health or does it cover Van Breakdown as well , thanks Chris.
Just health cover, Chris, We have AA European Cover, which costs around £225 per annum for Zone 2, Property Insurance, Travel Insurance, European Breakdown Cover, UK Breakdown Cover [Car + M/Home] + M/Home insurance comes to about £1800pa, but we do average 115-120 nights each year, and pay virtually no pitch fees. We paid £47 pitch fees since 21st April 2025 and have managed 93 nights away, so a tad more than 50p per night.

However, we have spent a small fortune on repairs, servicing and upgrades in the last 11 months, and when we add these costs, plus Road Tax & Servicing, the per night cost rises to £158, or the cost of a decent hotel ... And, using a hotel, we wouldn't have to find black waste disposal and empty the cassette! But I have over allocated the depreciation over the almost 5 years ownership, so the true cost per night, were we to sell the M/Home now, would be around £148 per night :ROFLMAO:
