What a lovely country this is.. The water pump filter needed changing.. a 10 minute job, every 6 months, or so.
It's been getting hard to tighten and seal, the last few times, after 16 years in place.
This time I couldn't get it to seal.
Phoned our Plumber neighbour, Manuel, at 7.30, knowing he is usually just getting home then.
" I'll be straight up, I'm 5 minutes away."
Looked at it, then went home and returned with the appropriate bit.
Usually, he'll look, do a quick fix and return at the weekend and refuses payment for little jobs.
This time he fettled it and joined us for a drink on the terrace.
Told us about some foreign .lady who had spectacularly turned her car over, up in the hills.....
His Gast was well flabbered, when Jenny said it was she..
After a beer and gossip, had to force a 10€ note into his hand , reminding him he hadn't charged us for his 2 previous visits.
All through the Pandemic, nobody he's met or knows already, has caught Covid.
That makes us feel very safe.
The Accident..?
Jenny, hit a patch of gravel, slid into the tapered end of a crash barrier, car rolled over into ditch.
Most efficient rescue operation, 9 hours in Faro Hospital.. Everything scanned, tested and cleared by Neuro and Bone Specialists..
Bruises coming out now
Car?
Probably a write off..
She was lucky.
The car needed a wash, and was due is 3 monthly fuel refil.
