Prostate Cancer

That's a long time, mine was supposed to be 2 years, but I got to the result they wanted at 15 months, grey stopped it at 28 months.

I've had it for about five years or so now and wondered if there was an existing thread on here but couldn't find one.

I'm sure I am far from alone with all the elderly folk on here, and most will get a check up, but some younger farts can get it too.

Most men die with it but not from it so it is worth asking your doc for a PSA test, or for him to put the gloves on for a physical test, (if his hands are one your shoulders or hips, he's doing it wrong) Mine is low grade and I need no meds for the cancer but it does affect my bladder so I have meds for that, they seem to work most of the time but I need to have a day off every now and then, today is one of those days, not fun at all, you go but you can't so wait 5 minutes then suddenly you can.
Regular PSA tests quite often wait and watch. For someone who is just recovering from Penile Cancer all male cancers should have proper screening but it’s just been knocked back for Prostate Cancer. Hope you keep well.

prostate cancer is getting a lot of publicity which is great and it can be treated very well. Can I just take an opportunity to do a shout out for all guys who have been diagnosed with penile cancer which is less reported and guys who are in there 20s are not able to have a family. It’s taking too long to get diagnosed and when it is it’s normally too late and amputation is required and it comes back where folks need more surgery. It’s horrendous. I wish male cancer was higher on the agenda. The screening was shelved.

Not even heard of it, but the symptoms and causes are awful.
I was fobbed off for over a decade which is unique and the excruciating pain was cancer pain and was told it was in my head. August this year after complaining profusely eventually got an appointment where the urologist was horrified and said a lesion was extremely worrying I am 65 and was told a month later on the 1st September that I needed life affecting surgery which could be done two days later to amputate my penis to cut out a tumour that had been growing from a non-cancerous tumour to a grade 3 aggressive tumour. Once they did the amputation all my pain disappeared. The guidelines say if after 4 weeks of treatment with antibiotics and creams don’t work a biopsy should be performed. This took 12 years looking for a blockage in my prostate which was at the wrong end. I was very lucky it had not spread and am recovering well but the psychological side will take some time.
