2 ltr coke bottle works as well.If no extra cassette use a bucket with a clip on lid or 20 litre plastic can with cap to tip the loo cas into,do it outside mind you, just incase.![]()
If we are all going to Staycation again next year we absolutely must have a better system for waste disposal, with some government money on offer to LAs. We vanned up to the Western Isles in August (which were ok) but driving back down through Skye was heartbreaking. I would be more than happy to pay for disposing of my waste. We need aires!! There’s already a great one on Islay at a petrol station in Port Ellen. A fiver to offload and fill up.Well, really hacked off about this, which I knew was happening and would happen anyway.
Good lady was speaking to her sister tonight who lives in Ballachuilish, works in the Fort and covers most of Lochaber in a Primary care roll.
Locals are disgusted by Motorhomers and Wild Campers crapping and emptying their toilet cassettes at side of road, lay byes and other places.
NC 500 is particularly bad.
I know this will again glean unpleasant responses to me but that is what is happening.
I have travelled most of Scotland all my life since I was about 5 yrs old with my family in Strontian and areas, at 15 cycled Dundee -Fort W, and what everyone now calls the 500, Motorbiked it, drove it and hitched it before the Tourist Board listed it as such and never saw another human being generally.
Shame on anyone not paying this country the respect it deserves, if by just staying away or at least having some kind of plan on where you can stay, travel and at least leave it as you would expect to view it.
I am sure I will get responses like, `we were there and never saw anything like that! and we drove 500 miles to see it`, .
You are most likely the offenders.
1 seriouslly hacked off jock.

No disrespect but once again I have no reason not to believe my neighbours and no doubt he probably has no reason not to believe the local he knows as he saw a lot of tenters himself I’m not saying they did that but...See that's a problem too no disrespect to you pal but Jane's sisters husband that works in the butchers well his friends cousins auntys best pal seen some motorhomer doing the nasty thing...... See where I'm coming from ? I know it happens but a lot of it is shyte from non motorhomer

How do you geta scooby doo into that.2 ltr coke bottle works as well.
Good aim.How do you geta scooby doo into that.
The post I replied to of yours had no mention of tents in it, had it done so I may have had a different reply for you, tenters I believe if no facility's available it's only nature to have to go to the toilet somewhere,so yes I believe about the tenters or a majority of them as some may have a portaloo, but as I said your post had no mention of tents just a motorhomer emptying or going to empty his cassette into a stream in front of someone who lives there, to me it's fiction made up to harm the motorhoming community, although I do believe that dumping of waste does happen..... on this occasion I don't think it did..No disrespect but once again I have no reason not to believe my neighbours and no doubt he probably has no reason not to believe the local he knows as he saw a lot of tenters himself I’m not saying they did that but...
You can't but when there is hundred of miles of empty space why stop right by the side of someone else. Same as why stop near someone's house or in a village.“The last time we went up we stopped in the middle of no where. Two other vans came and tried to park up by the side of us. I couldn't believe it. Told them where to go, not politely.“
crikey, didn’t realise one could declare large public spaces as ones private domain. Handy to know.
Probably for the same reason you chose to stop there. You can't but when there is hundred of miles of empty space why stop right by the side of someone else. Same as why stop near someone's house or in a village.
If others were there we wouldn't. We would just move on.Probably for the same reason you chose to stop there.
If you approached me in the manner you are suggesting I think you would have ended up moving especially if there was room for another van.We used to go up several times a year, normally off season. Never stay with van near village, habitation or monuments. Always bury poop well away from water courses and away from where anywhere People will walk.
Done that for forty years. Not been up for the last two years as since the NC500 has been promoted it appears to have ruined the area. .
Why pitch up near habitation, would you want a van outside your house in your street with someone draining their waste on your road.

Why can't people take rubbish home and camp responsibly, I just don't understand.
We can make a difference by challenging people when we see something that should not be happening and thinking ourselves about others and the environment.
