Wandered around Amposta town late morning and found a 'locals' Bar. Patatas Bravas and 2 Estrella Galicias for the princely sum of 8.80€. Then wandered a wee bit more, found a pastelaria that was about to close, and reduced the closing stock by 2.70€ for a pair of delightfully light Ensamadas with a non-stodgy custard cream filling. Heaven on a budget ...

Yep, a dish of green olives; and the beers were 330cl

You need to come to to Rojales, we were recommended a restaurant called Avenida, they do a menu del Dai for €12, good choice of starters and main and dessert, the 3 of us had a pint of beer each, then we ordered a bottle of wine, then another beer, when the bill comes it was 36 euros.
I said to the waiter you haven't charged us for the extra drinks, he said all drinks included, no wonder you have to book a table in advance, the place was full, not a table spare and when people showed up with no reservation they were shown the door. Brilliant place for us Yorkshire folk who don't like spending.
Good job we didn't find out about all drinks been included beforehand, otherwise I would have been carrying two women out of there.

We're hoping to be there for 1.00pm on Friday, as it soon fills up with it been so popular. Well worth the walk.

Walked up to the Old Town and climbed the new Tourist route that finishes up overlooking the Cathedral (scaffolding and netting obscures part of the view whilst the stonework is being cleaned and repaired). Climb is steep enough to get the pulse rate increased, but not to cardiac arrest levels ...

Lunch at Lizarran Bar, Tortosa. 13:00-16:00 Promo - 2 x XXL Beers (Big Bugger Glasses ... Larger than 330cl!) + Patatas Bravas €7.90. Staggered back to the M/home for a coffee and a wee rest, then a wee donder to Esclat Supermarket to purchase Manzana Slices for this evening.

joy is having problems with charging her veh battery so today we worked hard a 175 mile drive over 3 hours to estepona where joy had contacted a mechanic here ! from wigan originally , he diagnosed a knackered alternator & is going to fit it tomorrow hopeful that will be problem sorted , while joy was at the garage we went to the aire next to the marina not just rammed but apparently a fortnight ago the police cleared everyone off for fear of flooding today still had large puddles all over it

We had some rain during the night last night, but the days have been fantastic mid 20’s here at El Palmer off to Seville tomorrow for a couple of days.

Spent 3 weeks in Paphos Cyprus for change as it’s been years since we’ve flown.
Cut it a bit tight really as we got home on the 29th January and set off on le Chunnel on the 3rd of February had to load Queen Bee up as she was empty and were now down past Torrevieja sat in the sun .

Spent 3 weeks in Paphos Cyprus for change as it’s been years since we’ve flown.
Cut it a bit tight really as we got home on the 29th January and set off on le Chunnel on the 3rd of February had to load Queen Bee up as she was empty and were now down past Torrevieja sat in the sun .

How did you get on with dogs on the bus ?

It is about a 40 minute walk to the central area spent a nice afternoon/evening mooching about had a few drinks and some pigs cheeks !! Got a taxi back luckily the driver was happy to take dogs.

One of the stops on our first visit, over 25 years ago..
We knew nothing of Aires and wildcamping, in those days.
We found the campsite closed, so parked up, outside the gates.
I bet it was a bit chilly, up there, eh?
Safe travels.

Actually wasn't too cold, especially having been in Guarda most of the day...now that was cold. An hour southwards made quite a lot of difference...
Back in the barn again now and more degrees warmer again....frost at night though.

Quite toasty here at Alcazares compared to the last week. Large tapas of a typical Murcia dish, glass of wine and a beer €8. Actually went out yesterday without our thick fleeces!
