Snowbirds 2025

Isn’t there someone missing.. I should be able to put that right on Tuesday.. I didn’t mind you staring without me.

Three or four more vans and we’ed have MH meet. Great place, love it there. If I got anymore chilled while I was there, did be frozen.

We had a very wet night in Manta Rota after leaving Pomarao but got the laundry done and moved onto Silves stayed at the site near the castle €8.50 a night great showers.IMG_1273.jpeg
Had a lovely 3 course meal with a beer €20 for us both

We are now parked near the beach at Quarteira, met up with Paul and Susan @FIJIT again and had a walk into Vilamoura last night. Now waiting to see what the weather does a few days of rain forecast.

Us and Fijit parked up at Quarteira, the beach is just behind those trees no services just bins but it’s free and camping behaviour is tolerated in the winter. Couple of hours of drizzle this morning then back to full sun 🌞. The search is on now for a vet to get the dogs EU passports from.

is this the tomatoe beach one dave , we’re presently at parque rio silves with jeff & pat just had unbelievable meal ( for the price ) €8 a night if you stay 7 nights

Leaving Antequera, and heading for Olivenza, 347km nearer to home:cry:. Had the bright idea of visiting the castle yesterday (free entry Tuesday afternoon), which is a fair old climb out of the town. The rain started at about the highest point of the tour, and persisted all the way back to the Aire . 'Singing in the rain' was not on the playlist ... , but the alternative version 'It's peeing down again' did feature ... :ROFLMAO:

Three weeks in Morocco and really enjoying it. On the whole a very friendly place. Lots to see and do. Can be quite litter strewn and lots of stray cats and dogs (dogs sleep all day so are usually no bother. Weather pretty good, only a few rainy days but sat in the sun at Asilah on the Atlantic coast and around 20C.

Changed plan today by not chasing to Olivenza from Antequera; instead we did the shorter hop of 89 miles to the Aire at Carmona, south of Seville. Clean and quite new facilities, including a bench outside each pitch. Only downside is that the obvious Access Road is one way, and there are no signs to the start of the one way street! Most arrivals drive past the Aire 3 times before they work out where the side street is ...

Carmona is a mediaeval hillside town, full of cobbled (narrow) streets that pedestrians, cars and cyclists share on a game of 'chicken' basis ... Lovely main square, n number of churches (not quite at the density of Malta, but a creditable try) and plenty of cafes and bars within a mile walk from the Aire. A lucky find!

Howdy camper friends. Great to see everyone enjoying their winter life abroad on wheels. We are on our 11th wonderful day at 🍅 Praia dos Tomates, Vilamoura, in Portugal - we love this place for the free, relaxed style of camping (off-season), the beautiful 6km clean, sandy beach flanked by high majestic copper coloured cliffs, and so much more.

We are now well rested and ready for more exploring!!

We had a great few days with Dave and Debs when they re-joined us at Tomates for our last few days here. They moved on inland yesterday, and we'll be re-joining them again tomorrow.

As you can see .... Smuj is living his best life 🐾 BOL

Arrived at Olivanza after a fruitless visit to Badajoz where the Aire was rammed full and there were 6-7 Vans queuing along the entrance road for a pitch to become free. In contrast, there are now 3 Vans at Olivanza, us, another Brit in a 2003 Autotrail, and a foreigner (raining too hard to investigate origin!). The Aire will be quiet, it's less than a mile walk or bike ride to the delightful Old Town, and we were able to stop at Mercadona on the way in to restock the fridge and food cupboard to get us through the weekend. Just need some sun now ...

Photo from March 2024 visit, when it wasn't peeing down ... :ROFLMAO:. Only drawback missing out on Badajoz is being able to cycle to Portugal for lunch (sounds more impressive than a 5 miles each way ride ...).
