Still 24 degrees in East Sussex, but it's cloudy and oppressive, and feels as if the predicted occasional thunderstorms might finally arrive today.

Southampton were expecting rain about 2 o clock today .
But then more hot sunshine tomorrow to dry it all up.

Sunday we’re in the Sunderland area again for a month or two and the weather is looking not so good in the northeast.

Having said that if the weather stays as it is. We’re most likely head back to Southampton sooner rather than later.

Yesterday's thunderstorms arrived on cue, were the most violent for years, and I read of flooding.

Today is quiet, cooler, and the sting of the heat has dissipated. The light westerly breeze will bring another bright day and the temperatures will climb back up to 25 degrees.

Celebration lunch today for a tickle on the premium bonds and a touch on the lottery.
It won't be roast beef and Yorkshire puddings.
