So I'm off to Leigh-on-Sea on the Thames estuary.

We're still looking at 10mm of rainfall on Monday and Tuesday .
We had to put a light blanket on at 4am and shut the Velux over our bed..

Cloudy, dry and a slight breeze in Folkestone as we waited the Chunnel ……….weather has improved as we head south, currently sunny and 28° around Cholet …,

Started like this on the Il de Re …………….

But the the clouds are clearing now for what should be a dry and pleasant day. Loads of vans about, mostly french and german, hardly any brits.

It feels very mild at 17°C this morning in Herts.
The sky looks very much like the sky on Île de Ré, though the locals sound very different.
The croissants and baguettes also seem to be late arriving hereabouts this morning.

Mild 20 degrees, gentle southerly breezes. Max 30 expected.
I looked up into the Olive Tree, during breakfast, and muttered, " Great Tits ".
Management gave me a stare.
Sure enough, they're back and have just started singing.
Another sign of Autumn.

After overnight drizzle and early morning clag, it's turned into a lovely warm day with a mixture of fluffy clouds under a blue sky.

Wish we were back on lovely Isle de Re like Val54, where Papillon walked out of the Citadel for fourteen years on Devil's Island.

Hazy sunshine and breezy on Ile de Re ……. caught plenty of seaweed but no fish on the lure last night but lovely sunset …

We have a very thin layer of high level cloud over Herts with the sun shining through in places.
It's a a lovely September morning and certainly not cold at 16°C.
In fact it's a great morning for a bike ride or walk, methinks.
