It's 17° without a breath of fresh air, and after a warm night it is forecast to become one of those days when you flop under a sun shade and do little but drink water.

UPDATE from EAST SUSSEX
After a walk, picking up some shopping on the route home, and cutting the grass, I found that the shaded thermometer has reached 28° and not topped out yet. To be honest, we are not flop down types.

It's about 18°C in Hertfordshire with a clear blue sky and still air.
Looking at Rain Radar there's some wetness on the way for this evening, overnight and tomorrow.
So I'll be making the most of the intervening lovelyness today.

It's already 22° with a bright blue sky, and another perfect summers day.

A Spitfire has just flown overhead, yet again. Their unmistakable sound is quite emotional. Probably returning to Biggin.

After last night's violent thunderstorms with bouts of occasional heavy rain, the heatwave has broken and its back to 16° with a thick mist hanging over everything.

The atmosphere has the heady scent of a recently watered greenhouse, and the woodland birds have become very active again.

It's a very mild 16°C in Herts this morning and the overnight rain is drying nicely.
It's grey but hey, the past few days have been great.
I've always liked September weather and have very fond memories of camping holidays on the Isle of Wight with the children before they started school. Blackberries were always on the menu with purplish stain on everything.

Light dew, this morning.. The first sign of Autumn ?
The Blackbirds have started singing a little, after moulting and moping around in the undergrowth, through August.
A single Cicada has began to serenade us, after dusk.

They're forecasting thunderstorms for Monday and into Tuesday..
We shall believe it when we're dancing naked on the terrace.
Hope it's not 4am, though.
