In the 70s I wild camped in a tent there, right next to our Piper Cherokee.

Another bright day in sunny Blackpool and should get 16 degrees.

Hit 14c here today taps aff. Actually first time this year I’ve left the hoos wae short sleeves. Chilling a bit now so a wee fire pit on the take the edge aff.

Passed the aerodrome last year Bill when out on a cycle tour. I doubt it has changed much since wild camp there.

Jeff one of Sam Scotias sons made it for me a while back that’s the first time I’ve used it. It’s got oor wully on one side a compass a hunter and a thistle cut out on each side. Very clever it comes apart and packs away flat. But I’ve still got the wee one you made I’ll keep that forever a few folk have asked to borrow it but I just tell them it’s not mines I’m only looking after it for Jeff

Love the "Oor Willie" cutout. Takes me back over 65 years to the annual my Northumbrian aunt and uncle sent me every other year at Christmas. I've still got a few, but our boys loved them too, and they are falling apart .... a bit like me. ☹️
