Weather Report..................

The weather forecast was right, and in addition to the incredible thunderstorm we had hailstones. The last time I saw anything quite as dramatic was in the Rhone Valley around 1971. All calm now, and the surrounding shrubbery smells absolutely lovely. ⚡⚡☁️

Yesterday's thunderstorms are a thing of memory and it's been a cracker since daybreak near Ledbury. Blue skies, the lightest cooling breeze, and a 26 degree high. ☀️☀️☀️

The garden was watered well by thunderstorms for a couple of hours last night and now it’s back to wall to wall sunshine and heat. ☀️☀️☀️

Stunning weather today, ground well watered, pity we go home today 🥲
27.5 deg on the van thermometer as we passed the bottom of Lugton Brae today, Terry! Van was so shaken about on the roads round Dalkeith that the habitation water pump feed pipe got disconnected! Still roasting in Penicuik now.

Tony, Mid Clowncil must be close to the bottom in the hopeless league. They are investing millions at hill end ski slop, yet our roads are falling to bits.

Fuel stop, pooch walk and bite to eat Costco Gateshead, another couple of hours and to catch the last of the sun…then plan, where do I start with the garden 😎

Similar for us when we get home tomorrow but we’ve only been away 5 weeks so hopefully things won’t be too untidy in the garden. Seems the kids have been using our house for the odd stopover so who knows what the inside will be like (and of course none of them thought to even cut the grass!)

It was a lovely warm evening after visiting the 600 year old moated manor house at Brockhampton. (I'm told that Threave was the hottest place in Scotland at over 30 degrees.)

This morning we've already a bright blue sky, and it'll be 26 degrees with the gentlest cooling breeze. As Bill said, the UK is a beautiful place to live. ☀️☀️☀️

Classic North Sea Haar, so bright sunshine outside the flat; and a sea mist 100m away at the beach obscuring the sea views ... Quite an eerie appearance!

Steve
Luckily the haar had cleared by the time we crossed the bridge at around 11 this morning as it so often does with the sun burning it off. But instead of taking the short route home over the Cairn we had to divert via Stonehaven and the slug road as the cairn was closed. This brought us right back into contact with the damp and the cold of the haar for 15 minutes or so down by the sea before we could climb back out of it heading west to Banchory which is still at 24 deg now.

Flaming June..
40 degrees in the full Sunshine at 8am, 23, in the shade.
28 indoors, now.
ESE breezes missing our side of the valley.

Longest Day next week.
Not that it will rapidly cool down, til September..
Come on Premium Bonds, I want to go to New Zealand...!
