We got some honest proper rainfall, at last!
Only about 20 minutes, but refreshing and encouraging.
Downside?
We had to have breakfast indoors the first time, since mid April.
Today will be dry, with blue skies and a light breeze, but it will be very hot with a high of 28 degrees. No sign of a thunderstorm here to break the heat and dampen the garden.
After a warm night it will be another dry, very hot day, quickly reaching 26 degrees later. No rain or thunder in sight and our windows and doors remain closed to keep out the heat.
The blackbirds seem tamer this year, and have joined the robins in hopping around beside me whilst I pull out the spent forget-me-nots.
We got our much needed couple of hours of heavy rain yesterday evening and back to wall to wall sunshine today. Heading out to see the Cleveleys car show, perfect.
However we're trundling west to Herefordshire, where we'll enjoy thunder & lightning and possible flooding, together with a high of 25 degrees. The rain should peter out by the evening, leaving that lovely scent of warm wet grass.
Cooler..
Most unusual for June, but very pleasant.
Hint of a brief storm, hereabouts, but only 1mm of rainfall, if it does bother us.
Little light gardening, on the agenda.
What a difference a few hours make, huge thunderstorm rumbling above us, lightning flashes, and I’m under the awning enjoying the light show. Oh, no rain…yet.
