Weather Report..................

Really wild night - didn’t realise til the news this morning that we’d been upgraded to red warning overnight. Everything seems ok but a bit nervous about driving down to Liverpool today to check on Sue’s dad.
Take chainsaw and spare battery Tony. Take is easy on the corners too, in case you meet up with a fallen tree.

Viewing Scottish morning news Tony, although a tough call, I would consider cancell trip for at least 24 hours, lots of hazards and chaos out there at this time.

Nothing like as bad as the good folk up north. We had the anticipated strong winds, heavy rain, trees and branches down, power cuts, but it eased up overnight. Today some power cuts continue but it's lovely again, dry, bright, a moderate westerly breeze, and 11 degree high. 💨⛅⛅

We decided to risk it and had a great journey down as far as we got, Terry. Gave up driving at Tebay and are comfortably settled in their lovely hotel here (handy for the Tesla Superchargers as well). M6 has been closed both lanes at Shap since last midnight due to overturned lorries and is still shut. With Sue’s excellent navigational skills we cut off north of Penrith and used little country lanes to get here as all the big roads were blocked solid.

Good to hear you are both safe and sound. It is a difficult call to make, thankfully paid of for you. Tonights news, another storm to roll in tomorrow!

Hopefully M6 will be open tomorrow and then we can get an easy trip onwards to Liverpool. Quite a kerfuffle especially as unfortunately when we Sue‘s dad in the care home he doesn’t know who we are these days. But we feel the obligation to see him every now and again. Still very windy on the slopes of Shap tonight.
