It's a lovely day here in Hertfordshire with, as is the case over much of England right now, lots of blue and 25°C forecast for later this afternoon.
So I've popped into Wheathampstead on the Brompton to have a look at the new community garden and petanque court which now occupies the old rectory garden.
The garden has early Victorian 'crinkle-crankle' walls layed in Flemish bond flanking the east and west sides of the garden:
Nippy 19 degrees... Indoors after returning from a pleasant dusk hike up the hunters tracks.. About 2½ miles...
Any colder, and it'll be classed as winter.
Not a whiff of a breeze, 35 degrees at breakfast. Had to open the reserve parasol..
I wonder if we really could cook an egg when the sun heats the terrace terra-cotta tiles...?
Mmmm....
You're not wrong, Graham .
It's 29 in the shade now, the breeze had come back, changing direction frequently.
It's a bit fresh, I might have to resort to the tee shirt... And reduce the size of the ice cubes in my G&T.
