Overcast and grey this morning in Dumfries but it’s promising to brighten later.

Exactly as our fellow correspondent reports, and it’s brightening already. We’re heading a bit further south today so tomorrow report from the Lake District. ️

In Hunstanton there's a uniform cover of light grey immediately above and striped white and red cliffs immediately below.
It feels a lot warmer than the 20°C that the weather occultist predicted, so I imagine that the humidity is quite high.
Oh, and I'm pleased to say that it's sufficiently breezy to pilot a kite.

Warm with hazy sunshine on Anglesey today, quite muggy so could develop a thunderstorm later. Worst thunderstorm in living memory at home the other night but no damage reported by our neighbour.

Lovely cool 21 at 08.30.

Didn't need the Aircon in the car until 11.30.

Yesterday we went to Hunstanton to view the amazing striped red and white cliff. It's a Site of Special Scientific Interest with plenty of ammonites in the rock. The cliff is missed or overlooked (literally!) by the vast majority of visitors to the town:



Then some kite flying was in order:



............great fun, though I'm ashamed to say that it had a collision with a gull. It flew off slightly confused (the gull, not the kite) but otherwise seemed fine.
This is the smaller 1.3m kite - it was a bit breezy for the bigger kite, since I would have been skiing across the stony beach.
Today it's overcast in Norfolk, though it's dry. So we're off to Cambridgeshire to sample the market and view the cathedral at Ely.

A very overcast day in Dumfries. The temperature as dropped a lot. It was to be expected because I’m hitting the road in Boxie tomorrow for a week or two. Seems everywhere we intended visiting can now expect rain. Grrr

We had some overnight rain in South Cumbria but dry if overcast this morning. Looks like it will be generally dry as we head a little further South.

Similar story on Anglesey, overnight rain now grey skies and a freshening breeze. Heading for Staffordshire/Shropshire border today and a few days chasing those pesky trout ........
