Devon's rain arrived here in Herts at about 0900 and lasted for perhaps an hour.
Normal service consisting of bright skies with blue patches is currently being established.

And a dry, white wine to wash it down.
Then figs in almond liquor, with ice cream..
No wonder we're losing weight..

Last night the wind destroyed one of our wheelie bins by ripping its lid off. The wind has abated now but the rain is torrential. Oh, and it’s 8 degrees.

Plenty of water fell on Hertfordshire overnight and earlier this morning but now there's lots of blue up above. And thankfully it looks very much as if it's going to become even bluer and stay that way for at least a couple of hours.
A few minutes ago three green parakeets shared the top of the garden fence with a local pigeon. I haven't seen these interlopers in Herts before and I suspect that the pigeon hadn't either - it looked very confused indeed!
