After unpredicted heavy rain yesterday afternoon, further rain last night, the day has broken with 17° and a gunmetal grey sky.

One forecast says it'll be dry, whilst another suggests rain. I'm off out for a walk with an anorak in my rucksack.

Not a bad day yesterday here in the New Forest, and it remained dry. Apparently the Isle of Wight just down the road had 5 inches of rain! This morning it’s wall to wall sunshine for the start of the journey North.

It's still early, and 13° in this heavily wooded part of the south-east, but everything points to it turning into another lovely day.

That's three whole days without rain.
