Weather Report..................

We have a very thin layer of high level cloud over Herts with the sun shining through in places.
It's a a lovely September morning and certainly not cold at 16°C.
In fact it's a great morning for a bike ride or walk, methinks.

Hazy sunshine and breezy on Ile de Re ……. caught plenty of seaweed but no fish on the lure last night but lovely sunset …

Oysters for breakfast, Dave?

Another gentle day here.
Nothing exciting to report. The 20mm of rainfall has been pushed back to Tuesday night now.. 48 hours of light rain after the initial cloudburst.

Oysters not our favourite Paul, but moules frites anytime for us Cheshire peasants. Breakfast involves a pleasant bike ride to the village for croissants, baguettes and patisseries followed by an exclamation “how much!!” And that’s before the visit to the cheese stall 😄
Update the breeze has dropped and it’s now cloudless, but the smug filter is still packed as the forecast for the next 3 days is not as good.

💚 We're jealous, Dave.
You're right about the oysters.
I bought 6 , last time we were on the Ile.
Only one of them worked..

Cooling down, 18 degrees. Almost no wind..
.
We're had to come indoors.
The Seaweed fondlers are still insisting it's going to rain...
Lovely, clear, starry night..
We'll close all the roof lights.

We shall see.

24 steamy, sticky degrees.
Murky clouds slinking and sideling in from the S.E..
Few pitter patters of rain at 6.20. 4 minute light shower.. Not exactly the deluge that we'd been promised.
It's greened the trees up and collected a bucket of cloudy brown water.
Similar forecast for tomorrow.

Herts is wet this morning - and it's likely to stay that way all day.
I'm not complaining because we haven't had much rain in September and frankly the fauna and flora need it.
The neighbouring farmer has been busy harvesting for a while now and finished getting the cereal and linseed crop in yesterday,
He'll be a happy bunny then.

Wet morning.
The storm arrived before 6 am .. Distant lightening then light rain, 10 minutes later. .
Took another 20 minutes to wash off the roof.
As I was connecting up the cisterna, wearing only Sandals and a hat, a hooley blew in, bringing a fine Deluge and a magnificent sound and light show, when we drew the Velux blind, above our bed.
The air is fragrant and 24 degrees.

Strong showers expected until evening.
The coastal resorts are on yellow flood alerts..
Won't bother us, though.
Wet day timetable for us.. after 14 dry weeks.
