Here in South Wales there are brass monkeys walking around looking for welders, its that damned cold. Weather keeps flirting between lashing hail/sleet and bright ice cold sunshine. 5'c and going south at the moment.

No forecast rain ,this morning, The Sun burnt through, by noon. Even Old Zacharias, the cess pit empting man, emphatically denied the possibility of any rain, today. Lunch outside, shorts and tee shirted.
At 4.30, the sky darkened, Distant thunder... The wind changed from NE to Westerly .
By 5.00 , We had a full-blown, Mind blowing, thunderstorm, overhead... I dashed out to connect the roof gutters into our cisterns... After allowing time so all the cr*p had washed off, I stood in the downpour, while the lightening fizzed around me and the thunder blasted overhead... Gorgeous, warm, pure, fresh water gurgling into our cisterns . Perfect , when you're not connected to the water mains
I was soaking wet , from 5 minutes outside, .... then the power cut !
By the time we'd found and lit the candles and torches and dried myself off, we were just planning to take the makings of a meal up to the van.
Luckily, the power returned... It has been known to be off for a couple of days, before.
The storm passed eastwards, gentle showers, at present
We have enough water to last the two of us until Mid- January. We can even go back to flushing the bog after a pee !
