What did you do to your van today?

Well iv'e finished at last! Thanks to Reiverlad for the parts donated, bought and his assistance and calming influence when I was under stress!! Also for the advice given from various sources Kirk Caravans, Argyll Caravan engineer and many, many others so please be gentle wae the comments lol! so here are the pictures (Did try a video but nae idea how to put it on here!...so its piccies i'm afraid!)20250523_093911.jpg20250523_094021.jpg20250523_094034.jpg20250523_094039.jpg20250523_094042.jpg20250523_094055.jpg20250523_094107.jpg20250523_094112.jpg

Broke it! Engine light stayed on at start up and Manual says it's ignition/emissions fault. Local garage can get M/home on Diagnostics late afternoon, and think it may be a sticky EGR valve or similar after no use for 2 months. Fingers crossed we will be still be able to attend Rolls Royce Leisure Rally, albeit as a 'late arrival at the Ball', tomorrow at the earliest

Hope your sorted Steve 👍 😀 😊

I like your optimism, three sets of sunglasses hanging from the hook rack. :ROFLMAO:

Naw, Trev; just swinging to and fro with all the coming and going. It's why urine is yellow and the other stuff is white, so that we know, without too much investigation, whether we are coming or going ... :ROFLMAO:

Removed scabby corroded wiper arms and cleaned / repainted as they looked rough.
While I was at it I noticed a while back the plastic scuttle cowl never really fitted that great so took it off to discover all the push in clips were broken and it was loosely attached with the cheapest looking silicone ever.
Ordered up 10 new clips and cleaned up scuttle cowls / and area under windscreen ready to refit when clips arrive.
Another previously bodged by previous owners job to add to the "been bodged" list - It's growing and growing.

Brought our new-to-us van home to start sorting out niggles...
Identified before sale and agreed to be paid for by seller:
Toilet flush pump sized- could unseize it with small screwdriver but a new one would be better.
Main Shurflo pump running continually with water switched on. No leaks or dribbly taps evident.
Found after sale or mods I want:
T piece in gas bottle line to make changeover quicker/simpler
Fit TPMS system - Jansite
De-crud roof
Fix flyscreen above kitchen.
Thorough clean interior
Fix windscreen washers - not squirting.
Adjusted reversing camera so I could see rear step instead of following traffic.

All part of taking delivery of a van which has not been used since beginning of Covid.

It's a 2008 Autosleeper Symbol on a
Peugeot Boxer MWB 5.5M with 120HP motor. 38000 on the clock.

K ;)

Sound's like a nice little project.
I prefer buying stuff like this and going through it myself, sounds very like the condition our one was in - Needs a bit of TLC but plenty of potential.

Fixed the central locking on the habitation door which also buggered up the alarm system. Noticed there was a pin loose at the catch area tried and tried to remove the door skin but would not budge.
This morning it was 26 deg by 8.30 so opened the habitation door and let the warmth do it's magic. 3.00 pm finally managed to budge the plastic cover out of the trim Gently prying using plastic door card removal tools purchased on fleabay. Sure enough the roll pin had dislodged from the catch, this pin pressed the spring steel latch onto the micro switch setting everything to allow the alarm system to function. 20250613_151702.jpg20250620_151946.jpg20250620_152016.jpg20250620_151936.jpg
