What did you do to your van today?

I know a company near me that export Ford parts so I have asked them if they could help, if you could let me have your VIN Number they will let me know from that if there is any chance.
Thanks Eric very kind of you ,I've located a engine (reconditioned ) through Ford a guy I know ,dearer than rebuild shops but Ford guaranteed so will strip mine and get a internal look before I purchase, think a injector has failed in no3 cyl and knackered piston and bore

Good one Gordon, a cheap way of checking the internals of your engine is by using a cheap endoscope that works with an iPhone or iPad. Would save you stripping it down more than necessary.

I have an endoscope you can borrow if you wish Gordon?

Elements arrived yesterday 24hr deliver, now fitted and back together, the jobs a good un. Saw people stating from £700 to £900 to have this done. It was a bugger removing and replacing the unit but at £143 all in worth the effort.20260401_113907.jpg

Added a new USB socket into the Motorhome in a place handy for plugging in my laptop.

Bought one which had a fairly high (65W) PD USB C output as well as a QC3 USB Type A (original) connector and fitted into a CBE Mount. I find the covers on sockets a bit annoying so don't tend to use them, so I put the cover on the inside of the fitting so if I ever changed my mind, I would know where to find the cover :)

Fitted onto the side panel of the side sofa. Goes neatly below the switches that can control the AMT12-2 Trickle Charger and the override/adaptation of the automated Multiplus AC outputs for the Sockets and the Water Boiler. The AES and SOC-SSR switches allow me to use the inverter even if the batteries are lower than ideal if I have a particular need to use a socket or the boiler.

(The writing on the switches is on their side as when I look at them I have my head tilted over :D )

This is an ideal location I think :) This is the laptop plugged into the new socket laying on the seat I use when in the back of the motorhome.

Upto now I've been plugging the laptop into a mains socket or 12V adapter by the kitchen and having to have the cable strung over the seat, but now it is in a really handy place - plus I have that second QC 3.0 USB output I can use to plug a phone or tablet in.
On testing I found I was pulling 40W rather than 65W from the socket, but I think that is probably the maximum charge power the USB C socket on the laptop will accept as a different socket with a PD connector is giving virtually the same power

Yesterday's awful weather gave a chance to test the new Leisure Battery ['LB'] in conditions similar to those we encountered in Spain recently, when we struggled to use the LB and get it recharged when the solar harvest was poor. We started the morning at 13.35v LB, cooked the porridge on the Induction Hob, then plugged in the Slow Cooker for 6.5 hours to make a goulash, and still finished the day at 13.24v, without recourse to the Portable Panel. 13.36v this morning after 2 hours of very grey skies from 0630, cooked porridge again, and now waiting for some brighter light to recharge the LB. So the new LB + the 2nd Roof Solar Panel seems just about right for our needs, and we've saved about 20p worth of household leccy [minus the gas central heating cost with the running in and out of the house with pots and pans ... :ROFLMAO:]

Steve, no wonder you nearly bit my arm off when I offered you 2s 6d and a bag of pineapple cubes for your old battery :D
