What was the very first car or motorcyle you ever drove/rode?

A 1949 BSA C11 bought for £3- 10s in 1966.
A 1965 Reliant Regal can't remember the price from dealer in 1969.
I always fancied a C11 or C12, just a nice looking bike, the aesthetics have always been important for me.

And I had two Regal vans, loved the fun you could have scaring folk who've never done a roundabout on two wheels, I think I'd buy another perhaps.

Hmm!! wish I'd kept mine.

It takes zero effort to get it up there, keeping it there is an art, I used to do the same on me combi.
riding an outfit at speed in a V formation is great fun, especially if you have a view of the drivers face in vehicles you approach and pass lol

Well, it was, don't know if I have the strength and skill any more lol

1976 suzuki 250 gtm (which later became an off road "bitsa" -see photo) followed by a dozen or more incl. BSA A10, Yamaha XS650 ( later attached to a Monza sidecar... often lifted the chair wheel, just showing off really)

Happy days...

I had a pal who party trick was to drive his Reliant three wheeler on two wheels around the bends beneath Box Hill. Absolutely no H&S back in those days. 😳
Ah that's just reminded me of when I worked on a petrol station. A lad used to come in with a regal that he had " modified" big rear wheels and self made arches, austin healy engine had been shoe horned in. We used to encourage him to do a "burn" when he left the forecourt. The look on customers faces when he left dragster like in a cloud of smoke was brilliant. Sadly he ended up splitting it in half, a 😱bit too much power

First bike was a James Superswift -- I bought a wreck with paper round money and rebuilt the thing. Back then, you could call in at your local motorcycle shop and buy parts for a Villiers 2T from stock as so many bikes had that engine! Stock photo below as I don't have one of the actual bike:

I wonder if the answer to "The very first car you ever drove" is the same answer to "The very first car you ever crashed"?

It is in my case
The first car? No. That would be a Triumph Herald 13/60 and that came out completely unscathed in my hands. However, my first motorcycle was another matter. I remember the headlight being temperamental and would sometimes 'flame out' but a swift slap would bring it back to life. Unfortunately, this happened on a winding country road and when it re-illuminated, I was heading straight for a hedge, which I hit -- catapulting me over both the bars and the hedge to perform a perfect somersault and land on my backside in a duckpond!

First “bike” Lambretta LD125 (NDP27) - cost £5

First car Standard 8 (SLK 60) - cost £15, £10 of which I borrowed from my brother!
First scooter, 2nd hand 1966 Lambretta J125 [only 3 speed], bought for £50 and parked in Garry Davies's Dad's prize winning front rose garden 10 minutes later - Mr Davies Snr was not happy, but he was accustomed to Gary's lunatic riding and associated anti-social behaviour so he didn't ask for compensation.

First car was ex-North Sea Gas Conversion Project Bedford Viva HB 8cwt Van, KRV 343F with 68,500 on the clock; due to a joint 'oversight' by Dad and fiancee's father who worked together in the Fleet Workshop, the £45 purchase price included 5 new tyres, new exhaust and full service. Dad got Cyril, a coachbuilder contact, to do a decent respray for £15 cash, and the insurance was £54, Third Party, Fire & Theft via Miss Joyce Sadler, of Sadler & Co - 3 x 1/4ly instalments of £18.35 including a 1 guinea [discounted] admin fee because I worked in 'her Bank' - she was a gem!

My ex-brother-in-law was as thick as 2 short planks, and a fearless, reckless motorbike rider, who thought driving a car would be easy, which is why he failed his Driving Test repeatedly. Dad bought him a 'safer' Reliant Robin Van, to stop my sister from being killed by Anthony's driving lunacy, and Dad and I put 5 new bodies on it in 9 months - we became quite quick, and could have been faster had velcro been invented at that time ... :ROFLMAO:
