Who's Awake

The other thing I don’t get about blue badges is why is it free because for me it’s not about paying or not paying it’s about the distance I would have to walk and I’m quite happy to pay the same as everyone else I just can’t walk that far.

They still charge normal fees for the blue badge spots in our local car parks in Horsham... other than for people who also have the zero road-tax rating with their badge, who then have to show a permit to the people in the office each time. Martin was given his blue badge because he had a terminal illness, so we didn't have the zero tax bit... it was all about being closer to access points. Whenever we went to Guildford for his chemo or appointments, we'd go into town as well and all the car parks there had no charge at all for any blue badge. I think it's up to the company running the car park to be honest.

Most car parks round here charge blue badge holders, but they do provide decent sized bays and sometimes an extra hour or 30mins. Can't see why it should be free, disability has nothing to do with ability to pay.

Well, I had an appointment at the fracture clinic this morning about my ankle. I happily read my book for and hour and a half after my appointment time but then went in to see the doctor for all of 2 minutes! It was more of a lesson in stating the bleedin' obvious to be honest - rest, elevation, don't over-exert - and he didn't even want to take the boot off to look at the ankle, let alone check progress with an x-ray. I'm more than happy not to have a fuss made and was happy to get out of there but seriously, how can he know it's OK when I could say what I like to him about how it feels and he'd just take my word for it? Anyway, according to the expert (that's me by the way!) it's mending well and feels much better lol!

We've had loads of appointments that could have easily been conducted over the phone. Yesterday David had a phone call from the surgery asking him to make an appointment to see the GP. I knew what it was about and also knew that it could be done over the phone, saving us a trail, and leaving an appointment for someone who needed it. GP phoned me back, it lasted all of three minutes. To go to the surgery would probably have taken us 40 minutes.
Glad to hear you'll soon have your running shoes back on Jennie.:)

it has been snowing in my kitchen washed a few tissues well a packet of them and got white fluff everywhere lol

I love your judged and tolerant review of your visit to hospital, I'm glad to hear according to the relevant experts, your foot is on the mend.
May suggest you take it steady with no excitement and as much rest as you can for the offending limb and I'm sure you will be up and about very soon.
Hopefully they will produce an App that can replace this stressful hospital visit very soon.

Gosh yes! I don't do angry :b0213:
Thank you for your excellent advice Dr Lee. I vow to take it easy but can't make any promises on the excitement front. I'm just hoping the limb stops offending very soon.

Well I suppose once you’ve seen one fracture you’ve seen them all I’d love a doc like that who works on the premise you know your own body and wether it’s on the mend or not lol.

Looks like we may get a decent day, I can see an orange glow through the window.
