We have gone to Spain 2020

There must be appreciably fewer MHs on the costas trail by now I would guess.
Or are there more braver souls sitting it out, than I imagine!!!!

There is about 50 vans here at Mijas , quite a few have tried to go north but turned round and come back

Hope you guys stay safe and healthy mate
We are ok Gordon , the area we are confined to is fairly big so the dog can stretch its legs we also have a water tap and cassette dump , only 2 min to Aldi , so just getting on with life , this is now day 3 and nobody from the Authorities have been round to check everyone is ok or tell us what is going on , so we are pretty much looking our for each other , it is really comforting to see all nationalities coming together and asking each other if they are ok and if they need anything doing

We have just crossed the French border into France via the payage to DX no problem here but still lots of rumours about closure very foggy comi gover the Mountains and drizzle, so now head slowly for Calais, may try the train for a change this time.

Have just heard from friends in Castillo De Banos on a campsite, they have been given 7 days notice that the site will close, apparently by Government Decree, they were told all campsites will be closed. I'm in Javea not heard anything, has anyone else?

The letter the site has given out is a bit misleading as it sayes that there will be a government decree. (I have seen a copy of the letter) No such decree had been made up to this evening. Other campsites are also closing and chucking people off. Most sites are just closed to new arrivals. Its very worrying for the people being chucked off, some of whom live on these sites.

Sounds a little OTT to me Meg.

Latest news, all campsites and hotels are going to be closed in spain, its unbelievable they obviously want all foreign nationals to leave Spain so not to put there health system under strain. But there is no advice how to go about it when the last few ferries from Spain were well booked up and there will be no more ferries from Spain after tomorrow until the 12th Aprilas they are cancelling the service. Things are changing daily so if you set off to the French border with the hope of making it to the tunnel, you could get there only for them to decide they have closed there border, that leaves you in total limbo land. It's getting beyond a joke. Screenshot_20200318-163318_Chrome.jpg

Due to developments it looks like the Aires will get closed sooner rather than later so we have decided to make a break for it and try to return to the Uk , we have booked the tunnel for next wednesday and got as far up as Madrid today , tomorrow we will try and cross the border into France , I have downloaded the form but it is in French and I cannot understand how to fill it in , if anyone can help me translate the form to English I would appreciate it . Now Parked up for the night on a hotel car park with another German van

We now Bonneval France on a aire, just phoned the CCC and booked the train for Friday 11am £106 so no profiteering there, lots of train times available so no need to panic. We were given a form by a cop at Nersac aire this morning, just have to add our names and.Vehicle number, he said it shows we are OK d by the Police, whatever we ha e a piece of paper, called in at a supermarket at St Maure de Tourain today, shelves all full of goodies, eye watering prices after Spain and Portugal France is not cheap.

That wasn’t an option on the form, I think most people have just hand written that in as an extra to cover foreign nationals returning home.

we left Benidorm on sunday now on aire in Amsterdam ferry changed from 31st to 19th just this min had email from dfds no more sailings from Amsterdam as from sat 21st until 13th april

That's it translated to English Jeff, the second attachment shows that you write another column with the words in French if you are catching the train. Let me know how you get on, we are debating about returning as my daughter who is a nurse is now worried about childcare since schools are closing.

Hi. I'm chair of governors at a primary school and a retired headteacher so have been following the school closure issue with interest. The detail hasn't been released yet but don't make a hasty decision about child care. Children whose parents are on the front line services (NHS, police, delivery drivers etc) will have school provision/childcare provided. No details yet about how this will work and we are waiting for updates from DFE. Hope this helps.

Oh that would be good news Dave & Val as we are ok were we are, the motorhome is parked up and we are not living in it at the moment, we were just concerned about our grandchildren and there mum and dad been able to continue working.
My daughter is a Matron and the pressure for them to work longer hours is on, its ridiculous situation as she says the NHS keeps moving the goal posts as to which face masks the staff should be wearing, the goal posts have changed again to the cheaper masks as they are the only ones available now, lack of basic supplies, you would think the NHS managers would take there duty of care to there staff and patients seriously, but apparently not. My daughter also has Asthma, so she is putting her health on the line while others are to to isolate themselves for 12 weeks.

To top it off she rung me today to say her car has broken down, the AA couldn't fix it and towed it to a garage to see if they can repair it, they say it is an electrical problem so don't know when it will be fixed, she relies on her car as she has to visit patients in the community every day and believe it or not the NHS dont have pools cars for instances like this, last time this happened we were at home so my wife was able to drive her round the patients, it always happens when we are away.
