Curtain rail fitted. Not straightforward but .
Matching drill sizes with plastic plugs hassle !
Plugs and screws with the rail too flimsy.
Normal drill not effective . Hammer drill makes the hole too big at the entrance.
Flexidriver needed to tighten the screws.
Strong coffee needed ! To go with the strong language.
I used torx screws as the driver fits more securely.
Fitted to masonry and rendering.
I hate curtain rails !!!

Do the job right, wooden batton to wall and rail to batton, works every time.

Yes but you also have to fix the batten ! Similar problem.
The main house is wooden so easy peasy.
We use bamboo sticks for rails.
Just drill through the bamboo curtain rails and use nails. PoP.
