Annie’s big European adventure

Just found this thread, looks like you are having a great time and some lovely weather.
I’ve taken a few notes for our next trip down the Eastern side of France.

Lots of feathered friends for The Yorkshire Wanderer today.
Egrets and herons first thing on the Cher.
Now we've stopped for a second breakfast on the Loire and stumbled upon something that reminds our lass of Yorkshire. She went over for a chat in pidgin French:

.......and wished them a safe and swift journey down to their home in the Dordogne region:

Did you see what I did there?

Colin ???

We found an artisan boulangerie soon after leaving our wild camp by the Loire this morning.
Here's Annie working out if she has sufficient change for her usual breakfast of trois pain au chocolat, deux croissant et une ficelle:

........then to Angers to view the amazing Chateau d'Angers overhanging the river Maine:

......but first a steep and cobbled climb to the old town:

........though parking had thoughtfully been provided in a tiny Annie-sized triangular corner between two old building:

The fortress chateau is a beauty with ornate flower beds in the former moat:

And so to this evening's wild camp on the right bank of the Sarthe at Roézé-Sur-Sarthe:

The day before yesterday we watched a couple of egrets and a grey heron fishing on a weir on the Cher where we wild camped.

Yesterday we encountered pigeons being released by the Loire for their race back to the Dordogne.

This morning a woodpecker woke me by hammering on the tree adjacent to the Moho at our wild camp on the Loire.

This evening we had a stroll around the village adjacent to our wild camp on the Sarthe and then wandered back to the mohos:

.......and a swan joined us soon after we'd finished dinner. It ate quite a lot of a plant growing amongst the grass by the table:

Then came closer:

..........and finally accepted a morsel from Annie:

I'm not sure which of them was more apprehensive!
