The tapestry is amazing as was the courtroom from around 1460 sad to see knife scribes on the woodwork (big wully face the west wiz here) not sure about this it wasn’t in our brochure
We have spent a few nights there, the road to the aire (Le Port) narrows but it has never been a problem, quite a few years ago probably about 1998 we were leaving there because of a bad storm, we came down Le Port along with several other vans and we had no choice but to turn into Quai d'Aval on the right (red arrow), we all parked there while the sapeurs-pompiers were trying to stop cars being washed into the water on the entrance to the harbour (where the black arrow is), they dragged a few cars away but two went into the water and sank, the waves were very high coming down from the sea and because the harbour is closed at the end the waves had nowhere to go, we had to stay there until low tide when we were allowed to leave, it was more exciting than frightening
