Weather Report..................

So much for the 4 days of drizzle, forecast to start yesterday afternoon.
The first pitter and patter arrived as we were bedding down,at 23.45. lightening flashes and thunder approached slowly from the south.

Gentle drizzle.
I allowed 45 minutes to wash the roof clean, and went out to couple up the cisterns
The storm arrived while I was out there..
An hour of classic black & white movie storm, crashed overhead, ending suddenly, an hour later.
Glorious fresh morning.
Breakfast on the sunny terrace, whafted by breezes scented with Cistus and Lavender.
Mustn't grumble.

3.8 degrees. Still no sign of the bright sunshine promised by XC weather from 9am. At least its not windy, just dull.
Xc Weather.. Beth ?

My nephew, a Humber Pilot swears by XC.
He says it's the most reliable for short term forecasting.
Vital for him to know what the winds are up to, climbing up from his launch onto a cargo ship, at sea.

I often swear at it.
It's 16 degrees, gentle SE breeze.
Hardly a cloud in the sky.
I hope he's well insured ?😳

Sorry Peter,
In the light of the weather forecast, I thought I wouldn't need the smug filter today .
My mistake.
😜

I realise it’s often different where you are compared to Faro, but here’s a site giving the latest TAFs (terminal area forecasts) and actuals for Faro airport. Link

It's light grey with patches of blue here in Herts.
A frost first thing but it's now above zero, though the maximum expected today is only 5°C.
Plenty of dryness hereabouts - and that's also good news!

Thanks, Bill.
I have used that.

Faro is 25 miles West and 200 metres below us.
The sea acts like a storage heater .
We have a ridge between us and the coast, higher hills to the north and west then a range of hills running North/ south along the Spanish Border, to our East.
We're living in " The cooking pot of The Algarve."
We can often see the weather Change along the valley and clouds affected by thermals . Tidal sea breezes lift when they hit the ridge to our South that's why we don't need telly...
There's always something new to watch, outside.

Meanwhile..
Bright , fresh,calm morning.
Breakfast in sunglasses again.
So much for the forecast rain. Nothing overnight.
Washing machine on..
That's tempting fate .
