Weather Report..................

Dry.
Warm.
Southerly breezes.
No change there, then.
Birdsong, fresh arrivals daily.
Noisy Hoopoe, serenaded us at breakfast.
Sign of changing weather?
Hope so.!
 
All change this morning.
Clouds bundling in from from the south.
Looking glum for the golfers on the coast.
One website has just changed its forecast from broken cloud and sunshine, to full cloud cover.
The other one forecasts showers later.
We have about a week's supply of water in our tanks.
 
It's drizzling...
We can see the plants and trees cheering up.
!
Woo hoo.!

A neighbour took a tractor load of water an hour ago .
He'll be sad..
We're not.
 
After overnight rain, it continued on throughout much of the day, and on again into the evening.

Nothing like a mild maritime climate in the autumn, and the clocks go back in 14 days.

Nothing much overnight. Just 5 minutes of light drizzle at 01.30.
Forecast for unbroken sunshine & Southerly breezes
Cloudy, misty start, blowing in from the east.
Sun burning through now.
Much rain forecast for Thursday...
Allegedly.
Bum !
The Weather Wizards have decided to change Thursday's forecast downpour.
It's now due Sunday..

Had to stay home today waiting for the Openreach engineer to fix our phone line. Took the opportunity to get the chainsaw out and take down a big old diseased cherry tree. Raining when I started but the sun came out shortly after and I passed a very enjoyable and satisfying afternoon tree felling!
 
Not a cloud in the sky, a gentle breeze, and 18 degrees. Throughout my life, October has commonly been a great month for travel. 🙂

Hey, don't be sad, chaps.
We really need a lot of rain, for agriculture and to replenish the aquifer under the valley.
The water in there has been in for over 6months and is very high in mineral content.
Our lane is in poor condition.
Baked dry and crumbling.
It's too hard to sort out with the council's JCB. and the Mayor has spent the road repair budget until January.
But if the lane washes away, he has access to emergency funds.
They're talking about 72 hours of heavy rainfall
Bring it on!

It's forecast to be a dry bright sunny day, with a 17 degree high. :)

Later this afternoon I'll get the mower out before it turns pear shape tomorrow. (y)

Raining..At last !
The downpour was due to start at 2am.
Set it all up outside and slept with 1ear open.
27 raindrops on the velux at 3am, woke us up.
Ditto at 4.30.
As we got up at 7.45..
Light drizzle arrived.
After 15 minutes, the roof was cleaned .

Stripped off and went outside to connect the cisterns.
It's glugging away now.
Forecast for 12 hours of gentle rain.
We're happy.
