A deluge of biblical proportions fell on Herts about 30 minutes ago.
Now we have blue from horizon to horizon.
So your Hertfordshire correspondent will go out and investigate conditions around the lanes - and all in the interest of public information.
It's gone as forecast ..
A rare occurrence.
Wind shifted from S.E to NW.
Should bring dry cool conditions.
The Gipsy traders are just pulling into the market field.
Herts has been stunning today with plenty of brilliant blue sky overhead.
So I pottered along the Lea Valley for a good few kilometres on the Brompton, had a baking session on my return and finished the day with a wander around St Albans:
The conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn could be seen briefly just above the southwest horizon and Mars higher in the sky in the northeast.
One of those 'good-to-be-alive' days.
The weather Gods smiled on us.
I've got the smugfilter turned up full.
Picked up 3 BBQ chickens and brought them for a bubble party on the terraces.
That's our Xmas party done and dusted.
A very fair Winter's day..
Calm, peaceful, set fair.
We should be delighted.
Lidl have reduced the price of my favourite brandy. The fridges and larder are stuffed full.
The garden is bursting out with fresh new life.
We've money that we are unable to spend..
But there's no family or friends flying in.
We can't just jump in the motor and take off.
That's hard to accept.
But we mustn't grumble. We're very lucky..
