What did you do to your van today?

Took Brunhilde to the garage for Full Service, including auxiliary belt replacement and a look/clean of brakes that have started to squeal again [copper grease job?]. That should set things up nicely for the trip to Hereford if the bill leaves me any money for diesel and the Rally fees ... (y)

In the 10 years and 71000 mile Steve I've not changed any of the belts on my engine .

Garage phoned late afternoon, Jeff. 'Belt looks to have been changed recently, so probably when your timing belt was replaced as part of the Van purchase', so the invoice will be a little cheaper [Job Card not available when the garage phoned]. I prefer to have the belts changed at the recommended intervals, rather than wait for the 'twang' on the M6 and then sit on a soggy embankment waiting for RAC/AA to arrive and take me to a garage in a strange town ... Well today I washed front and rear windows, filled the water tank, primed the lav and filled the flush, pilled in a whole load of medications (for me and my carer), plugged into the leccy and switched on the fridge. Her ladyship started filling the food lockers and a few other unnecessary bits of stuff, and tomorrow it's knickers and socks and bits of stuff the we'ed forgotten then early on Thursday its off to Canterbury P&R for the night and then the chunnel on Friday morn, so look out France !!!!
