What did you do to your van today?

You could try the fused link near the battery I seem to remember these came as part of the battery cable
That's a good piece of info that, as not many people know of the Fused Link fitted to Vehicles. 👍

Starter battery goes to half charge and for some reason blows the fusible link , I finished AA in 2008 and we used to carry the positive and negative for transits as our basic van stock,
I’m hoping it’s not this as at around £60 they are not cheap

Tks for the info, I hope it’s not that but I might have a spare as a friend gave me a short cable when I first got the van, I seem to recall he said something about batteries.

Update on my no start problem, called the AA and the chap after various sizes of boost batteries got it going and diagnosed a duff starter battery. Fortunately I had bought a decent Bosch battery with a 5 year warranty, so a quick call to Alpha Batteries tomorrow to see if I can get a replacement.
A reminder ref Alpha Batteries

Despite the best efforts of the AA man his diagnosis was incorrect. This is not a criticism as to get at my starter battery requires removing the seat and rotating mechanism. I took the battery back to Alpha and it checked out to be in good condition so no warranty replacement. So returned home and topped up the battery overnight cleaned up the battery terminal posts and noticed there was a bit of corrosion on the Ford crappy terminal clamps, cleaned them up and re- installed the battery and bingo started first time. So cost me few bob in diesel but good to know that the battery that has been on for four years is still in good nick and there aren’t any other electrical problems.
