Serviced the brakes yesterday. I'm pleased I did because one of the rear calliper sliders was feeling a little tight, another few weeks of low use and it could have seized up totally.
took Chris over to sainburys for some shopping i had to wait in the van as only one person can do the shopping so i put the heating on switch the tv and fire stick on and watch a couple of episodes of car fixers nearly fell a sleep lolol.
Took it for a shopping trip to nearest town, also did laundry, filled up with fuel and got petrol for the strimmer / chainsaw...Good old Intermarche! First trip anywhere for ten days...got quite excited! Now wiping everything down.
Refixed my omni-step following a long standing fracture of the mounting flange exacerbated by impact with a big traffic cone a couple of weeks ago.
Now all running smoothly and really solid with all the flex that its had since I bought the van a few years ago.
Took a while to twig that the activating arms had sleeves through them and the step as well as screws.
I fitted a new habitation water pump, works a treat, much more water pressure now, easy to fit but I had to adapt the wiring connections, Fiamma pump from E Bay seller new, great service.
Covered up some minor body damage (errant cone) with an orange side reflector and put 3 more on the other 'corners' to match it.
Whilst ordering I got a couple of decent sized rectangular red reflectors to highlight the rear as 15 year old light surrounds aren't as conspicuous as more modern units.
Phsycing myself up to turning the solar panel round to get charge unit within a couple of metres of the leisure battery and then upping the wire size.
May be a lot of effort for not much gain?
But if we can't go out I'm not losing travel time!
Will be fitting brackets to the side ofvan to carry the awning piles so as to not have to pin into ground
also general clean up inside after last nights campout in the van
I have seen these (or very similar) but prefer the Piles (Poles) to be almost vertical as simple mechanics suggests this is best.
I have decent spikes to fix them down if a bit windy. If windy or very windy ..No awning out.
I do however see why they are used and liked
