What did you do to your van today?

Speaking as someone who suffered a failed earth strap some years ago, and fettled it enough to get home, I can't disagree with your advice, Trev.

My current van's strap is only 5 years old and absolutely fine. I'll continue to wriggle underneath to have a general shuftie at everything, but given how little space they take up I'll shortly buy one and store it until I think it's time to change it.

Put an extra one from the battery neg to frame or g box bolt, 2 better than one as they fuzz up, paint over or grease up.

Fitted a new phone hands free microphone and made sure it was ok

Looked in to see battery charge levels from solar & dry any moisture on the windsheild inside, also placed a we dry cloth/towel at bottom left to right along with 4 dry cristal bags to absorb the damp, seems to work well, i rotate bags every week or so and dry the old ones out in the m wave.

Applied new silicone sealant to the whole shower tray. Parked up on our friend's drive in France. Cycled to the nearest hardware store with a note in French to buy it and forgot I didn't have a smoothing tool. Made one out of an old plastic takeaway box, perfect.

Went through the 20,000 mileage on the way back up from the New Forest 2 weeks ago on a 1,000 mile round trip. The engine loosened up a little more and revs more freely now

got air con fixed wednesday, 2kw diesel neater fitted thursday…love it, 08 Caddy very high mileage, second engine in it and still high mileage….now need a new wing…….
