Seller agreed to refund me the cost of a thetford pump and the control panel = £100Identified before sale and agreed to be paid for by seller:
Toilet flush pump sized- could unseize it with small screwdriver but a new one would be better.
Main Shurflo pump running continually with water switched on. No leaks or dribbly taps evident.
Found after sale or mods I want:
T piece in gas bottle line to make changeover quicker/simpler
Fit TPMS system - Jansite
De-crud roof
Fix flyscreen above kitchen.
Thorough clean interior
Fix windscreen washers - not squirting.
Adjusted reversing camera so I could see rear step instead of following traffic
Attention to the mirror change. Later vans include the ambient temperature sensor on the passenger side. This sensor is very important in the particle filter cleaning. Aftermarket mirrors do not include this sensor.M/Home in for major service and replacement of offside door mirror. The timing belt/water pump and ancillaries replacement will require a follow up appointment in 2-3 weeks because the engine requires a specific tool to bolt the flywheel and the garage needs to order one. I think the JTD engines could have the timing belt changed by just marking the settings on flywheel and crank case, but not the Euro 5 and later engines. 2 large bills in the offing instead of one bloody huge invoice ...

I specified the mirror with the sensor, thanks. Certain after-market mirrors [not the cheapo versions] have the sensor ready wired.Attention to the mirror change. Update: The garage Parts Suppliers sent the wrong mirror, and they're trying to track down the correct version! I am waiting for Maxi Mover Van Converters to phone me back to see if they have one in stock. Seems the good old Supply Chain issues have resurfaced now that we have let Europe; there are several Mirror Suppliers/Van Converters advertising both FIAT original mirrors [worth more than the M/Home ...] and guaranteed copies of the OEM, but all are reporrting 'Out of Stock'.I specified the mirror with the sensor, thanks. The Mirror price is £315+ VAT, so £378 in total; delivery is free, but, despite placing the order just before 11:00am [cut-off time for Next Day Delivery is 11:30am], 'the DHL man has been and gone', so the mirror will be posted tomorrow and delivered direct to the garage - allegedly! I entered the Cardholder Address and selected a different delivery address, entering the garage details; but, the email order confirmation says delivery will be both to my address and that of the garage ... I phoned back to the man who told me that the DHL man had been and gone, and he was quite relaxed, and confirmed verbally that delivery would be to the garage. Since I have had a Nymphomaniac's Week, where between them, Halifax B.Soc, Bank of Scotland, NHS Fife, Patient Access Tech Support, local contractors for the house refurb, E.on's 'Energy Support Team' and the garage's usual Suppliers [sent the wrong mirror, and don't have the right one ...] have staggered from one cock up straight to the next, I am by no means certain that the mirror will be delivered to the garage by DHLUpdate: The garage Parts Suppliers sent the wrong mirror, and they're trying to track down the correct version! So, at this stage, no timing belt change and no door mirror replacement, so just a full service to pay for ... IF Maxi Mover have a mirror in stock, the retail price is £315 plus delivery [around £5], considerably cheaper than the FIAT Genuine, but still flimsy, original ...

In other words Steve, nothing much happened today. The blood pumps enough when dealing with outfits like E.on, Halifax/Bank of Scotland/NHS Fife IT staff et al; the challenge is reducing the blood pressure. Deducting the amount of the mortgage payment from the previous balance and then adding the mortgage interest to the residual debt to give the new outstanding balance should be a basic competence, but it appears to be beyond the ability of the [allegedly] trained staff. Unfortunately, the training doesn't happen, the employees are being made redundant, left, right and centre, whilst the different computer systems of Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland do not link efficiently. The Bank is cynical enough to slash headcount, deskill the remaining employees, and then pay out compensation when the inevitable mistakes occur. E.on are equally bad, but they don't pay compensation - total charlatansIn other words Steve, nothing much happened today. You need a little excitement in your life.
You know, enough to ease the tedium, and get the blood pumping.
Haven't had a problem with Yodel [Evri?]; Fedex are worse - the drivers are not allowed phones in the Van and there is no Parcel Tracking system e.g. Courier delivering Parcel 42, you are delivery 73'. Fedex missed the 0900-1300 slot and the estimated delivery time then changed to 'by 6pm today' - Compressor arrived at 15:15. DHL delivered a package earlier than the time window, but placed it out of sight at the rear of the property as requested, and placed the parcel at almost perfect right angles to the brick platform - obviously placed with care and attention. Post Office Parcel Services had received our parcel at Edinburgh over the weekend, and we are less than 2 miles from the Sorting Office. Parcel delivered after 8pm, hving being estimated as 'before 6pm', and I had hoped that with the parcel arriving at Kirkcaldy Sorting Office at 0723, we might get delivery during the morning. I can cope with disappointment ...Just be glad it's not coming by Yodel
Compulsive gamblers send themselves a tenner by Yodel...
